Dubey 1,035
You are going to have a tough time convincing me that Calgary (or multiple other Canadian cities) isn't safer than 90+% of that list.
Untilted 158
The list is for big cities. My guess is that Calgary doesn't meet the criteria of a big city
Untilted 158
For example, of the cities I have visited, Lima is the lowest ranked at #44. I have felt more safer in every city I have ever been to in my life than Lima
Dubey 1,035
ahh, I see now.. that's not a "top 60" list. that's a ranking of those 60 cities. I wonder what the cut off is. Looks like Vancouver at 2.5 million or whatever didn't make the cut.
Zach6668 513
Oof. Rio de Janeiro is #37. I'm trying to put together a trip there next year.
FCP Bob 1,312
Oof. Rio de Janeiro is #37. I'm trying to put together a trip there next year. Death toll mounts in Rio de Janeiro as police lose control of the city – and of themselves On June 30, a baby was shot in his mother’s belly in Rio de Janeiro. After the rifle fire hit 29-year-old Claudinéia in the hip in the Favela do Lixão neighbourhood, her son Arthur was delivered via emergency cesarean section. He will be a paraplegic for life. This was just one of 181 shootings that took place in Rio that June week. A day earlier, Marlene Maria da Conceição, age 72, was shot in the Mangueira favela while picking up her grandson from school. Her daughter, Ana Cristina, 49, was struck when she tried to help her mother. Both women died. Just hours before her death, Ana Cristina had called the violence in her neighbourhood “unbelievable” on social media, posting that the “shooting has been going on for nearly three hours.” Two days earlier, Fabio, a doorman returning home from work, was killed by shrapnel from a grenade at the entrance to the Pavão-Pavãozinho favela, a stone’s throw from Ipanema and Copacabana, two of Rio’s wealthiest neighbourhoods. Even in Brazil, where homicides are all too common, Rio de Janeiro’s crime rate is stunning. It is now impossible not to notice that the city’s Police Pacification Units (UPP), once a much-vaunted anti-violence force, have all but collapsed.
Swacker Dave 89
I was lucky to have visited a LOT of places working on ships for 20 years... there are at least 2 places I can think of for sure that, unless I had a damn good reason I would never set foot in again and that is those big cities in Brazil or Jamaica. Nope, no way.

mrdannyg 274
We had an amazing experience today. There is a local business owner who is also a pilot, and he recently started a program where he’ll take kids with special needs up in a tiny 4-seater plane. Well, today Owen had the chance, and it was incredible. He got to sit right up front in the co-pilot seat, wearing a headset/mic and holding the steering wheel just like a real pilot. The (real) pilot was incredible with him, spending so much time explaining and showing him things, addressing him as “captain” every time and just being all-around astonishingly kind and generous. He even has a person with him to take pictures of the whole event, though he insists on being the one to pick out his favourites to post online. We actually thought he was just a very kind pilot who was probably getting some sponsorship from the airline company. Only when we looked him up later did we find out he is actually the owner of a great local pizza chain, and is actually funding the entire thing out of his pocket, including the photographer, runway fees, fuel costs, etc. And he does it ALL himself, including setting up appointments, texting me this morning to update me on wind conditions, etc.

Your kid rocked the pilot outfit nicely! I always hit up the Greek pizzaria's in Montreal. I wonder if he's originally from there.

Babying 613
As a result of spending sometime shopping today, wayne and I have agreed to swap our teams in their entirety. No. The sale was good but I could not get out of my head the M2 iron set at Bond Head for $500. They had it for $575 (which is still a very good price). They only had one in regular flex steel and someone took it. I picked up an absolute mint Vokey 60 degree wedge for $110 and Nike pants for $55. I was looking through the putters but I held off. That Taylormade Golf Tour Spider Limited was beautiful.

There's only about a dozen drivers left.
Babying 613
OMG. I tried on the Nike golf pants that I got yesterday at the sale. They fit perfectly and exactly what I was looking for. I have been looking for golf pants (since I dont have any) for 3 years.
MapleLeafpoker 1,462
I have to ask....what are golf pants? what makes them for golf, as opposed to something else? ie, walking.
