  1. Yep, a lot of gray area. It's obviously important how you represent the game of poker to your kids. The thing is, I play for a living, so I'm thinking about it from that angle. I know how consuming the game can be and I know of a lot of casualties. I don't have kids yet, but I know I won't want to encourage them to play until they are mature enough as I wouldn't want them to neglect their studies which they would if they adopted poker as a serious money making and time consuming activity into their lives at an an early stage. I only learnt the game when I was 19 and I'm doing fine in it. The p
  2. Seriously, am I the only one that thinks kids shouldn't play poker? Am I the only one whose opinion of Daniel Negreanu has plumetted since he now makes money selling poker to children through his video game? If you encourage your kids to play poker are you not encouraging them to gamble? Is that not a bad thing? Saying that it's ok to play if it doesn't include gambling just doesn't make any sense - we all know that poker doesn't work if gambling isn't involved. Poker IS gambling. I'm amazed at how poker players claim poker isn't gambling because it is a skill game. That's all well and good fo
  3. I'm replying 6 months too late, but never mind. Firstly £s aren't Euros. And secondly, Daniel is Canadian, so I would have thought a few non-Americans would be welcome, after all we share the same Queen! And to answer my own question the winrate I've averaged over 6 months is 5BB/100 (I'm now 6-8 tabling). Other's claim this is low and I must be a pretty bad player, but I can't give anyone credit for more than a couple of BB/100 more than me.
  4. it's called $3000 GTD PAYDAYit's exclusive to UKbetting and total poker on cryptologic
  5. On UK Betting and Total poker, there have been a bunch of gtd tourneys over the past few days that have an overlay eg $3k gtd for $10 entry - 200 max players. The only problem is that they are all 50 players minimum to get going and every single one has been cancelled so far as only 13 people or so have been entering. So here's another chance - 22:15 $3k gtd $10+1 entry, it would be really nice if just one of these could get started. 6 have entered so far and if no one drums up interest it will be cancellled like all the others. So ffs people, enter it!Top 50 places are paid in this tourney Com
  6. Come on guys, this is $25NL party and some guy has just put in a really stupid bet and you have KK over pair. This is a pretty easy push. It's so unlikely he has a set, 99% he would check, 2 pair, no way, misclick, could be, open ended straight, possibly, top pair ace kicker, quite likely, top pair mid kicker, very likely.
  7. Was this posted here by mistake? It seems to answering someone else's question.
  8. Hi all, this is my first post here. I'm making the transition from sng player to NL 6 max games. I've just started using Poker Tracker (I just didn't feel I needed it for $25 sngs, it's very simple to work out ROI for yourself). I've been playing £25 max buy in games at the crypto network. So far I've played nearly 4000 hands and my BB/100 is 18.5. Now, I know it's a small sample - I've only been playing a week, but I was wondering what people think is a sustainable BB/100 for £0.15-£0.25 NL 6-max games? There are so many crazy players and I've felt like I've suffered a fair share of big bad b
