That is a really good question! I wait for big pot sizes and big players. I will limp in for a few hands just to show that I am there to play and then I will only pay on hands that are winners or more than likely winners. I have made some good money being patient.

In tournaments I prefer a made hand because I play conservative until the stakes are higher and let other players make the mistakes. In the end of the tournament, I like the drawing hands because I bet stronger. In table limits it a 50 50 for me and it all depends how others are playing.

I never remember a hand except for one, I only learn from them. That is another forum post coming soon though My suggestion is you need to forget about it and play some poker :)Good luck studying!

Always fold 8-4 suited in this type of game. You are hoping for another heart and what happens if another heart comes up after that? You probably lost with the 8 as your high card. There was also a very nice raise in there, you should have ran when you could.

When there are active players on a table it doesn't hurt to play this hand. I would have raised a little pre flop and then bigger after the turn to make a strong statement stating you had something. I would have chucked the hand or limped to see what I got.

I would have kept on calling. You knew he was chasing a flush and he got one. Nothing you can do about that.

What would be scarey if he tripled up on something. Not playing the rest of the hands, you can't read the players. I would have folded to be safe, then agan, I am very conservative.
