hank213 1,823
Yeah, this just brings me that much closer to being able to buy the family farm and then burn it to the ground and piss on the ashes. Spite and/or vengeance as motivation? I never realized I was this much of an idol to you. Kinda brings a tear to the eye and a flutter to this coal black heart.
Napa Lite 3,278
Little A/Little B. Ideally I could orchestrate a hostile take over of POA of my grandma's estate from my aunt or some other dubious scheme that would result in my aunt and uncles that went against my family getting fvck all but I'll settle for burning down the farmstead. Maybe even build a mosque on the property for Mexican Muslims for good measure.
Theraflu 1,035
that was a good god damn basketball game
SuitedAces21 2,722
you guys think Tilt pushed all away because the doctors told him he'd be dead in a week or a month and he didn't want us to know? maybe he was hoping we'd think he was alive and well, back to selling sheds to rubes all over California.
Theraflu 1,035
Nah. Tilt sucks, but he's not a liar. I think he'd pop in and give a basic farewell.
Ron_Mexico 4,219
Just seemed like he was feeling s bit sorry for himself, which I can totally understand. He seems to have gotten the short end of the stick with his health for the past year. It's gotta be tough. You have to wonder, is that karma kicking in for his years in payday lending and the ponzi shed industry? Kidding I do hope his health turns around and he can go back to living the life he wanted. Essay21 2,385
I'm gonna assume it was a noble gesture, or at least an attempt at one, and remember him fondly.
brvheart 1,752
I personally found it really weird, and that it seemed to come entirely out of left field. I still don't get it.
brvheart 1,752
Says the guy that hasn't lived in iowa forever Yeah, but I would be living there if it wasn't for my wife. I also like the option of getting lunch with Napa every now and then. Now I'm going to have to go to The Cities, which isn't going to happen very often.
Napa Lite 3,278
I agree with brvy, was very out of character for Tilt and I'm worried he got a bad prognosis and was very upset. Or maybe it was reefer madness like the 50's warned us about. But, brvy, we've gotten food exactly two times in seven years. I bet we can keep that ratio up. Especially since they basically pay you to fly to Chicago from MSP. I imagine I'll be heading your way more often.
Napa Lite 3,278
3 days left of work and there's no way I'll finish this project before I leave. I'm not investing any more out of work hours into it. I had as much done as I could weeks ago but they keep changing stuff and not committing to no more changes so screw it. I hate to pile this onto my coworker but I gave them ample notice of my leaving, which was more then generous tbh, and I held up my end of the bargain.
Essay21 2,385
I personally found it really weird, and that it seemed to come entirely out of left field. I still don't get it. That's what I'm saying. Almost like he was told that morning there was nothing more that could be done and he might go any moment. Then wanting to spare us the pain, he harry and the Henderson'd us in hopes we'd always say imagine him out there living life in the woods.
brvheart 1,752
But, brvy, we've gotten food exactly two times in seven years. This is just objectively false. We've gotten food twice in 4 years. That's a lot of pressure on me now, considering I haven't been to MSP for about 13 years. But I'm all for you coming to Chicago.
SuitedAces21 2,722
i still assume you two don't actually know each other, have never met in real life, and have been putting the long con on me for the last decade.

"A large part of the reason I'm leaving is the interdepartmental dysfunction and inability of leaders to delineate clear objectives, unchanging criteria, and firm deadlines on large projects leading to an unsustainable work-life balance for the work force."
Napa Lite 3,278
We just had my going away party and I got my boss to talk mad shit about other employees. It was great. I also got the go ahead to wear sweat pants and slides tomorrow. Gonna cash in one of my super casual days.

CobaltBlue 662
Best manned my brother's wedding last weekend in Birmingham. The drive up was one of the toughest journeys we've taken as our oldest girl was quite sick (her fever spiked at 104.1 along the way, so we stopped at a QuickCare/hospital). Wedding was pretty great. It was about 20mins outside of town at an old farmhouse that seems to have been converted for special events. They had a pretty slick photobooth setup. Those with Facebook can see one of the pics as it's my new profile. I think there were about 160 guests and everything went pretty smoothly. The trip back went much better, though the fever/illness has lingered in the older one (ear infections) and it has spread to the little one and me...and possibly my wife. Felt terrible on Tuesday...then not too bad yesterday...was back to feeling kind of bad today. I think the meds have helped - I'm frequently reluctant to take them since I'm not always sure the side effects (mostly nausea) are worth it, but they seem okay this go-around.
Essay21 2,385
Damn 104 is high. Don't you need the ice bath at like 106? Napa promise me you won't become a twins fan. I can't take the thought of you rooting for those bums.
CobaltBlue 662
Damn 104 is high. Don't you need the ice bath at like 106? Apparently toddlers can go higher than adults and be fine. Someone said 104 for them is like 103 for us...but still concerning.

Napa Lite 3,278
I'm almost fully packed and somehow I simaltaneously have a lot more and a lot less stuff than I thought I did. I've also managed to donate/throw a ton of stuff out.
Theraflu 1,035
Good luck Naps. I'm sure MN has a thriving underground hip hop scene you'll be able to dive right into.
