FCP Bob 1,312
Grover Norquist is lucky he isn't in jail for his dealings with Bernie Madoff and I find him a total phoney who is in the business of being against taxes in the same way that that there are people on the left who are in the business of being left wing agitators and are just as full of shit as Grover. This is a great article from John Avalon.Jeb vs. Grover: Battle for GOP's soul In pursuit of a reality check, take a look at this quote: "We're going to close the unproductive tax loopholes that have allowed some of the truly wealthy to avoid paying their fair share. In theory, some of those loopholes were understandable, but in practice they sometimes made it possible for millionaires to pay nothing, while a bus driver was paying 10% of his salary, and that's crazy. It's time we stopped it."That might sound straight out of President Barack Obama "Buffett Tax" playbook -- which conservatives routinely attack as "class warfare" -- but in fact it is the sainted Reagan speaking in 1985. akoff 0
if you could create a situation where the spending was cut 3 to 1 or 3.5 to 1. you may be able to get some support for a tax hike from the rank and file...but until spending gets pulled into check there will never be an agreement. it appears Americans are begining to figure this out so there is hope.November is coming quickly - when is the court going rule on Obamacare? That could be the one that pushes everything over the edge.
