Posted ImageI'm getting that chip set and I get 300 chips. How many of each colour should I get? All suggestions welcome. (btw, I don't HAVE to get a colour, e.g. I could get 150 blacks and 150 greens if i wanted)

What games do you usually play in your HG and what stakes are they played for?My HG chip set is basically all 10's (like, a bunch of them) with some 1's for antes and few 50's for deeper stack NLHE.It suits our games and $ level.

I have a chip set with more chips, but worse quality.Stakes can be anywhere from 10c-25c to 1/2. I'll likely use them for homegame tournaments too though, so i dont rly want that many 25c/50c chips

You should do a search for posts by Alf. Don't remember what his full SN was on here but he always had great posts about chip sets.

I'd prefer a set that had 500 chips. But most of my home games are set up where 1 chip equals 1 chip and we can have enough for 10 people who start with 50 chips. Blinds start at 1/2 and we go from there. I guess 300 chips would be enough if you played mostly cash games and were going to set a denomination for each chip. Then you wouldn't need as many.

If you go to ebay, you can get real high quality chips for only about 40 dollars.

Ebay is where I got mine and they work great. They aren't clay but look and feel good. Each denomination has different pictures of Royal Flushes and the 1's have 4 Aces. 650 chips

You can get the 11.5g weighted polymer "Wal Mart" chips for cheap, but don't use those for any game that is any kind of serious..10/.20 is OK for those cheap chips, I guess, but even a $1/$2 game should offer more chip security.

I actually have them exact chips. Theyre nice except that the $5 red and $1 purple are very similar in color. Its annoying enough that I would happily sell u mine for cheap if u didnt live across the pond

I pilfered a Wild Turkey chip set from work, they are badass. The reason I think they are cool is probably just because they are mine, they were free, and they were better than the 'poker for dummies' or simpsons' chipsets that were the alternatives. Those chips above look amazing. How much have some of you spent on chips?

these are the ones FCP gives away for free. or used to. doesn't take long to save up enough to get 500.I have a 500 set, green black purple and grey. They look sick, everybody who's played w/ them loves them. I dont' remember how many I have of each, but those colors are the best.
