  1. i should have listened to all the warnings...i want my minute back.
  2. I play in a lot of really loose games similar to the one u described. Guy who bet out could easily have liked the texture of the flop and thought he could steal it, the raiser IMO could have A10 or worse, and I'de say you have the best hand right now about 90 percent of the time. Also, if one of them did have an overpair, why wouldn't they reraise preflop? Defintely push and take down this nice size pot.
  3. hey guys who are still in what is your screename on stars? I wanna rail a little bit. gl
  4. thnx that makes more sense, i guess there's always a chance that he'll fold a mediocare hand on the turn. The people i play with are usually pretty tight, so its tough to imagine them calling onthe flop with a mediocare hand, as most of the time they'll have a prenium hand in this spot. Usually, though, it looks like the turn bet does make sense here . Thankx
  5. Heres a quote from DN article "The Turn""You raise before the flop from middle position with A-K, and only the big blind calls you. The flop comes 10clubs 4spades 4clubs and your opponent checks to you. You bet, and he calls. The turn brings the 9diamonds, and your opponent checks. What should you do? It depends. (Don’t you hate it when people say that?)Really, though, it does. What type of player is the big blind? With what types of hands will he call you on the flop? If he had a 10 or a 4, would he check it to you twice? If he had a hand like 8-8, would he play it this carefully? The bottom
  6. Just take a swig of whatever drink ur drinking, reraise all in preflop, and put on ur best poker face. Textbook play according to Sklanksy in "Theory of Poker", since you have added equity with the possibility he might fold. Plus, your cards are both face cards, which can't be bad.(sw, just in case)
  7. Just started playing Omaha, and I'm loving it. Much different game than hold'em, and IMO more complex. This is a hand I played in a live heads-up freeze out; we each started with 100. Basicially this guy was an aggressive player, who I had yet to see just plain call a bet. It was raise or fold poker for him. Almost every hand preflop is was faced w/ a raise when he was button, and at this point we were even at 100 each.Blinds: 1,2SB: Me (Ac, Jc, 8d, 7h)BB:VillianMe: Raise to 6 dollarVillian: Reraises to 18 dollarsMe: CallsPot size: 36 dollarsFlop: 9h, 10c, 2c(for me, straight draw, nut f
  8. Overall, this play has gotta have a negative expectation. However, the circumstances in which you made it were favorable, and sometimes its fun as hell and also can help your game when you play with blind, wrecklass aggression to keep them on their toes. Whenever you make a large bluff like this, or any really huge bluff with few outs,, it's tough to give it a positive expectation. However, you are practically guranteed future action. Usually this extra action when you have the goods makes up for it in the long run.
  9. if you wnated to get fancy...Check here on the turn to try and induce a bluff. It will look to ur opponent that ur drawing, and when a blank falls on the river, theres a good chance he'll take a stab, hoping u were on a draw. u call here, and take down a better size pot. wouldnt do this alot, bet 3/4 pot most the time, but if u need to change it up its not a bad play to make if u can pull it off.
  10. A lot of this depends on the way the guy has been playing. If he has been loose/aggressive, this could easily be a typical no limit semibluff with any number of draws, in which case you have to call. Ccould he have AK? He could have slowplayed it, and then reraised all in on the turn to protect it from the potential draws. Set of queens/aces? Same deal as AK, but it depends on ur read. Overall, you have the pot odds and hand to call this bet, and you had to do so.
  11. maybe raising more on the turn to price out any bigger draws, like a bigger straight/ flush draw? At the same time, you want to get paid off, so in the long run i think his play had positive expectation.
  12. If you've ever seen rounders, you know the first hand of the movie. Matt Damon gets nines full of aces, Teddy KGB flps over pocket aces for aces full, and matt loses all his money. If you haven't seen the movie, i reccomend it. Anyway while watchingthe movie, my freind asks me "is there any way he could have not gone broke that hand" I wasn't sure, but after analyzing it, i think he could have saved his last 15K. heres my analysis of the hand.Matt picks up ace nine suited, and raises. KGB, who i assume is a blind, remakrs to the table "position riase" and calls. Flop comes down A 9 3, w
