I Called In Sick Today

Guapy, what the fvck are the Kings doing? I'm all for trading Boogie, but that haul isn't worth a damn.

I held out hope that Vivek was just an excentric with New Owner Syndrome longer than most, but even that died all the way back when they decided to go with Colison over IT. And that was before we knew that IT is actually kind of good.

and after 3 days, he is risen!

If you are paying $20 for a haircut, I imagine people assume you did it yourself anyway.

Pocket change cost me my first and only black girlfriend.   It was in the middle of a roaring poker boom and I was flush in ways most men don't even bother dreaming of. Money, it was like dirt to me

I'm glad you liked it. I'm still kicking myself for not making it there while I was living down there. Before you guys hammer me for not going, the Reagan Museum is on the far Western edge of Simi Valley, not far from the Pacific as the Seagull flys and I lived way south East of there with the notorious LA traffic in between. When I was working on the road it was really hard to talk myself into to doing long car trips on the weekend.

I haven't seen it, but in context, I'm fairly certain that Thera didn't fly all the way across the country to visit the Reagan Library or Museum or whatever. It seems like it was a storyline in the TV show Baskets, which as I stated previously, I haven't seen.

Booked

******* BigD. I knew if anyone caught that before I changed it it would be you or Thera. Fvcking Kings. Literally that morning Vlade told Boogies team he was going no where.

That was directed towards Strat and his apparent ridicule for my forthcoming jerky empire. Not everything's about you, Ronald.

Also, I think it's adorable Tilty thinks Thera visited the Reagan Library.

Thanks brvy. Btw...I appreciate your support and I'm glad we're not constantly bitching at each other anymore. Maybe someday Napa will stop being a dick for no apparent reason.

There are a lot of amazing lines from Coen Brother's movies, and I think we should post our top couple of lines. I love the Big Lebowski. It's amazing.

However, if I was going to pick my top 2 Coen movie lines, they would be from movies that aren't in the top 3 of my favorite Coen movies overall.

My all time favorite line from any Coen Brothers movie is from Barton Fink:

W.P. Mayhew: I close my eyes I can almost smell the live oak.

Audrey Taylor: That's chicken fat Bill.

W.P. Mayhew: Well my olfactory's turning womanish on me' date=' lying and deceitful. [/b']

My 2nd favorite Coen Brothers line is from A Serious Man, and it's when they are in the temple for church and Larry is struggling with holding up the huge heavy scrolls, which can't touch the ground for any reason:

"Jesus Christ"

Just kills me every time. I don't like either movie even close to as much as Big Lebowski' date=' Raising Arizona, No Country, Hudsucker, True Grit, Burn After Reading, Miller's Crossing, or even Hail, Caesar!, but man those lines just slay me every time. I find myself thinking about them randomly throughout my week because they are so funny to me.[/size']

Also, how good do you have to be at your job, where someone can list almost 10 movies you've made and Barton Fink doesn't even make the cut? The Coen's are unreal.

I don't have a favorite Prince song.

I didn't ask all that. But hail ceaser sucked, and I won't be moved off that contention.

Well, we finally found your weakness. Sports, entertainment, love, dating, life, and food opinions! I knew we would find it eventually, but it hid for so long because you're so awesome at everything else!

Yes. It had the same tone as Oh Brother and Raising Arizona. It's quite amazing that they can tow(e) the line of ridiculous so well.

The phrase is "toe the line" for what it's worth.

Also, Hudsucker is probably my favorite film by them. Also really enjoyed Raising Arizona. Remember liking O Brother fine. Hot take: Lebowski is overrated. Haven't seen the rest.

I thought "Hail, Caesar!" was terrible, too, but if two of my best friends who know these things better than me say it was good maybe I need to give another watch.

Idk my ranking but other than Hail, Caseser! and A Serious Man I've really enjoyed all the Coen movies I've seen. Oh, Brother is a must watch if I ever come across it on TV.

And I'm sure A Serious Man is a good movie because everyone says so but I'm just too dumb to get it or didn't watch it close enough. Like 70/30.

hank, you ever stay at the Cromwell in Vegas? i was a fan of the atmosphere when i was there for the bachelor party.

I haven't stayed there but been through and it seemed cool. It's a Caesar's property and I haven't put any play on my player's card for them in years so I don't get decent offers from that group.

I'm gonna go run up some points at the harrahs in town and see what they offer me. Rooms look nice and I think it's probably where I stay next time I go (likely December).

Yeah, I have a Total Reward card but like I said, haven't put anything on it in years. I doubt you'll get great Vegas offers (free nights) off local play but you might get some sort of discounted rate. My strategy was this: pick one group's casinos and 90% of my gambling budget is spent at their shops when I'm in Vegas. Since MGM and Harrah's have the vast majority of the south end of the strip, it's not like you're locked in to one place so you can still go to a few different casinos. I figure by sticking with one entity I'm maximizing the reward on my limited gambling budget. Also, it's important to watch the point expiration dates. For MGM it's September, not sure for Total Rewards. Used to be that as long as you earned points at least once per year they wouldn't expire your tier points and that was great for leveling up comps but I don't think that's the case anymore for the big shops. You don't want to go gamble a shitload right before they expire unless you know you're going to hit next tier.

As a bonus, I found out a bunch of the sales and product people will be at a conference in Vegas next week while I'm there. I might go hit up a business dinner with them and write off my travel expenses on come tax time next year.

--edit

Does Harrah's in KC have a poker room? If so and you play there, you can use your card but you won't earn points nearly as fast as you do at table games and (iirc) table games points are earned more slowly than slots.
