Today was arm day, I definately owned it. I could barely turn the wheel to steer my car after, and could barely get my arms to my head to rub shampoo in it. The trainer also had me go buy a book called "the last 15" to help me with the eating part of it. I'll update if I ever get to reading it and if I learn anything.

On the subject of weight. I am far from my goal that I set at the beginning of the year. Somehow during the first few months I went from 215 - 220. Well over the past two weeks I have dropped 3 pounds down to 217 and I am hoping to continue this downward trend into summer. My original goal is to be at 200 by summer.

I'm at 216 :club: Went and did a cardio today, 30 minutes cross trainer and 20 minutes on the stepper. I really pushed myself, went up to level 7 on the cross trainer and kept up a constant speed of 6.8 (normally I do level 5 at like 6.4), then did 15 minutes on a level I'm comfortable at on the stepper (7) then cranked it up to level 10 for the last 5 minutes which was brutal but I got 'er done. I had a craving I couldn't control last night, but it's not that bad. I went and got a spicy chicken burger from Wendy's (I think 420 calories, 15g of fat), didn't get fries or a frosty. It was soooo good!
seems like we are at about the same weight. I'm about 212 in the morning and 216 to 217 at night. definitely hard to lose weight. Easter long weekend doesn't help. I did cardio everyday tho. Ran 30 min. fri, 40 min sat and sun. leg's are a bit sore since I'm not used to running. tonight it's pec's and tri's day!

That's awesome. i bet you can feel your muscles growing. Do you slam a protein drink after weights? I'm sure you prob do, but if not, def. do it.

Yeah usually. Today I stopped by my mom's for lunch on the way home and had a grilled cheese sandwich, and didn't end up having a protein shake til 3 which sucked. I almost always come straight home for one though. Muscles are definately growing, we have been upping the weights consistantly every week. I'm also loving simple things like going up a set of stairs and not losing my breath.

Well I finally worked out 3 times in a week last week. That should help get me back to where I want to go to the gym. I feel like crap today because of a sinus infection and I have class tonight but I still at this moment hope to get to work out after. I have decided that Tuesdays are the weigh in and gut measurement day. I don't plan on losing that much weight as I figure that I will lose fat but gain muscle, but I would like to stay within a range. Though this month I am doing cardio only except for one day where I will do some weight training. Last Tuesday we bought a scale and I was at 176. I hopped on this morning and I was 175.5. Woot, but tomorrow will be the official weigh in.

Yo, there's almost no research that I can find with legit science backing it up that suggests that if you don't get a protein shake within 30 minutes you are really slowing your progress. I've heard that anything within 2 hours you should be ok, so I wouldn't fret too hard. i'd be glad to be proven wrong if anybody can back up their claims tho. Also, my knee caved really nasty in a squat today and it hurts now, sigh. First time I think.

maybe you should do some yoga for a while. Whattya think there champ?also, my workouts are nearly non-existent at this point. I HAVE to go tomorrow morning. I'm going to force myself, like I forced my dick into that girls vag this weekend, although I won't have to hold myself down like I did her. That's what motivated me to hit the gym. She almost was able to fight me off. ALMOST.

If you don't get back after it, and I mean like for realsies, I'm going to mock you endlessly. Congrats if you actually dropped a line this weekend.

I have low, low, low expectations. I'll give it a shot out of curiosity but if it isn't some miraculously good beer I doubt I'll be drinking too many of these in my life. Sidenote: One of my most disappointing beer experiences was ordering a Bud Select because I thought it was supposed to be a microbrew-type beer and finding out it...wasn't. Ran 5k tonight at a brisk but manageable pace. Finished in 22:35 and still had a lot in the tank so that was encouraging. Did random ab exercises afterward and will replace those with push ups tomorrow.
It really took a tall one to see it, two to believe it, three to just get in the way.

Got back to the gym yesterday after three days off. Got in 36 laps in the pool and then did 22 minutes on the treadmill at 4 mph. I am still just trying to get legs used to running long distances. I am hoping to be able to pull out a 10 minute mile by the time the triathlon comes along. I followed this up with some stretching. I really need to work on my flexibility. I can barely touch my toes and everything feels tight. I may look into taking some yoga classes after the triathlon. Anyone here do Yoga?
There was madness in any direction, at any hour…You could strike sparks anywhere. There was a fantastic universal sense that whatever we were doing was right, that we were winning…. And that, I think, was the handle-that sense of inevitable victory over the forces of Old and Evil. Not in any mean or military sense; we didn’t need that. Our energy would simply prevail. There was no point in fighting-on our side or theirs. We had all the momentum; we were riding the crest of a high and beautiful wave….So now, less than five years later, you can go up on a steep hill in Las Vegas and look West, and with the right kind of eyes you can almost see the high-water mark-that place where the wave finally broke and rolled back.

Everytime I hear the word yoga, I think it'd be something I should do, but I've never really looked into it. I think it would help a lot if I get back into hockey. Btw, I've got my equipment airing out, machine washed the stuff I could, and am considering going out on Sunday. I'm a bit nervous of sucking though, and the group had 6 spares on each side the other week I heard, so I'm not sure if I want to be the guy who comes back after like 5 years and gives the regs even less ice time. My dad's part of the group though so I don't think it'd be a huge deal. Been lazy all day today and slept in, but going to go put in a cardio now!

I agree but I would try to get something in me in about an hour anyway. I just have to eat or drink a shake to feel better after a workout or running. In other news..Good- 10 weeks in, lost 17 lbs and have made amazing progress with how much i'm lifting and running now. Cardio is really making strides on both speed and incline. I've lost about 3 inches around the belly and alot of my jeans are now baggy.Bad- Chiroprachter broke my rib (tiny facture) and tore a muscle (intercoasal) in my chest. I'm probably down for a week totally and then no upper body for 4 to 6 weeks. GODDDAMAMAMMAAMIITTTITITITI

In the last 2 or 3 weeks I have eaten like total shit. Pizza multiple times, fast food because it was late and I wanted something quick and I gained freaking like 6-8 pounds. So my wife and I together are making a concerted effort to eat better. I am going to kindof follow the southbeach sutff for a bit to shed some lbs quick and start walking again with the family, which is really brutal, it is about a 4 mile walk up and down really steep hills. After a couple weeks of that I will get back to the gym.I am going to Disneyland with the kids in 3 weeks, and no way I can trek around that park all day at this weight. Especially with my back problems. Hopefully I can get under 200 by then.

I think this year I will get back into golf. Mainly because I used to play and enjoyed it but it does serve as exercise. So I was told that this would be an appropriate place to post about it.

Good call. I tend to not do as much traditional exercising in the summer and just use walking 18 holes a few times a week as my replacement.

Golf is GREAT exercise! I'd do more of it, but I get pretty upset with shooting 120 every round, even on easy courses. I get worse every year, even tried lessons last year and they didn't help at all.

I might look more into this in a few months, I'd like to see where after my sessions that I've paid for are over and worry more about flexibility after I'm in somewhat decent shape.

After a little investigation, MGD 64 is 2.8% alcohol. For reference, most light beers are in the low 4's and microbrews are usually at least 5.0.So, if your aim is to get drunk, you'll consume just as many calories as you normally would since you have to make up for the low alcohol content.
