Ok, I've never sports bet and want to give it a shot next weekend for a few NFL games. I did some reading on the format of the sportsbook bets, but I'm still lost on one number. If somebody could drop some knowledge, I'd appreciate it.I'll use the Dallas-NY game as my example.Ny Giants 44.5 +230Dallas -6.5 -270Ok, so I know what 3 out of 4 of these numbers mean (but correct me if I'm wrong). +230 means you can win $230 with a $100 bet, and -270 means you must bet $270 to win $100. I also know the -6.5 is the point spread in favor of Dallas. What I can't figure out is what the 44.5 number means. Help me out please /retarded rant
