  1. Yes. But its not the river that scares me its your play on the turn. Why did you slow down? Calling here? I'm willing to pay off AA and JJ because they are the only 2 hands in the deck that I am afraid of.
  2. Why are we not 3-betting/capping the action on the turn? Are we really that afraid of AA and JJ? People play A-J this aggressively when they flop top pair (or even 10-10 and 9-9 in some crazy cases) so why not make them pay for the majority of the time when they are going to have some ridiculous holding like J-10 or Q-J?No straight draws, no flush draws, you flop an over pair and you're slowing down when there are only 2 hands that really worry you? The turn is your most profitable street over time and you're bet/calling? Why not bet/raise?
  3. None taken. The point of the post was to try to point out the mistakes I made. For some reason when I was sitting at a stud table, I was having trouble bringing my Hold'em aggression with me.
  4. It would seriously depend on my read of the opponent. It looks to me like he may have made his flush on the river. w/ 4 wheel cards out there, its likely that you're going to be getting quartered for the low and his flush will take the high. It sucks but I would probably fold in this situation.
  5. I raised on 6th for a number of reasons. I have seen seat 3 bet everytime he was high board regardless of previous action. And he would also call down with anything that seemed like it would be his opponents board. He called down with a pair of 2s because it beat the other guys board before, even though the other guy was betting and re-raising the entire way. Also 6th gave me 4 to the diamond flush and a crapload of outs to improve to Aces up in case seat 3 was sitting on Queens-up. However even with this outs I did want seat 7 out of the hand. I would rather showdown nekkid Aces heads up if I
  6. This is a situation that I don't really know what to do. My high pairs get beat so often by someone hitting some ridiculous two pair, that I wasn't really sure what to do on 7th. Should I bet and try to squeeze out another bet? Or just check and hope my AA holds up? How often am I ahead in this spot? If I was sure that I am ahead more than 50% then I think this is an auto-bet. However, I'm pretty confident that my AA is behind here more than 50%.7 Card Stud High ($0.50/$1), Ante $0.25, Bring-In $0.25 (hand converter)3rd Street - (3.00 SB)Seat 1: xx xx 4:spade: ___foldsSeat 2: xx xx 5:spade:
  7. Well, him waking up on 6th didn't really give me any information other than the fact that he all of a sudden likes his hand enough to bet it. My raise is really for information at this point. If he 3-bets me then he's letting me know I'm beat. At that point, I did know I was beat and if any of my 10s and 9s were dead I probably would have folded to the 3-bet but decided to call because I was still drawing to 4 live outs to fill up.Normally I don't even consider playing a pair of tens like that in hi/lo but with the fact that everyones door cards were crap I figured they might be good.

I have highest card on the board and its paired. Also the fact that everyone is sharing wheel cards, thus eliminating some low possibilities. It works and I thin the field to two who I assume are going after the lows.4th Street - (6.00 SB
  9. I just realized I never asked my question. Is anyone here playing this any differently? With no complete from the A, having the next highest card on the table paired, is anyone folding this on 3rd?after seat 6 paired his door card I assumed we both made our trips and it was going to be a race to fill. I never expected seat 4 to come from so far behind at that point...
  10. True, but I don't think he changed up his play to be crafty. After I left the tournament I was talking to him and he is an absolute moron. He saw AA and had no intention of letting the hand go. Actually no, Seat 4 said he was working on a flush draw. That is why it blew my mind! He had Ad-Kd-Ah-2h Seat 6 at least had 4-4-4 but wasn't thinking of letting that go either... he shouldn't have been in there at all anyway, but whatever. it happens, but I got all my money in with the favorite and got outdrawn..
  11. Yeah what kind of stuff do you need done? this is a link to an old website I made in 9th grade with a bunch of my old stuff on it. My newer work isn't uploaded and this stuff is from middle school so its not that good:http://www.angelfire.com/dc/vidgame/art.htmlthe website sucks too..!
  12. Actually Turning Stone sucks. Its rigged. I haven't been there in a while. Let me know next time you plan on going, I might be able to meet up with you while you're there. I live in Binghamton (2 hours south) but Verona is my home town and I still have a lot of family that lives around there so I go up occasionally.

  14. I don't normally whine about my bad beats but this was ridiculous. The guy told me after the hand, "I was drawing on the flush also." As if with that kind of action a flush would be any good. This hand was the one that put me out of the tournament. I couldn't do anything else with 800 chips with the stakes at 200/400At one point I was down to 51 in chips and I made it back up to a decent stack. In this hand I decided to play the queens because player with the Ace showing didn't complete and he completed every time he started off with any pair. I guess he decided to change up his play and it sho
  15. About how everything is quantifiable, and able to be expressed as a probability, and life is a series of trials that approach predictable results as delta t approaches infinity.Surely you dig that kinda stuff too, if you're an actuary. And speaking of... have you checked out Michael Shackleford's website, Actuary? He's a gambling authority, actuary, and mathematics professor at UNLV... good stuff.www.wizardofodds.comExactly how I view life now (through poker) and thats a great site.
