I think there needs to be a small white truck parked next to the scene of the accident, watching but not participating.

How was the crowd for The Lovely Bones?

That's how I felt when I saw Gangs of New York, followed closely by City of God. DDL is fantastic in Gangs, but the movie didn't do much for me. City Of God though, that's the real thing.     I don

It's a great movie, but the ending was stupid. Tom Hanks would not have let his guard down at the end.

Atomic Blonde

boring, convoluted plot. Grim visuals. completely humorless. Unrelenting violence that I normally enjoy, but found exhausting here. Lacks the charisma or personality of Kingsman or John Wick, or even a run-of-the-mill James Bond flick. A generally unenjoyable 2 hours.

with all that said, there's a lesbian scene with Charlize Theron and Sofia Boutella that is worth the price of admission.

Dunkirk

For roughly the first half I found the 1 week/1 day/1 hour storytelling device jarring but as the timelines converged it felt smoother.

The Dark Tower

Unbelievably bad and terrible. Jake is the main character (?!?!?!). Doesn't tell the books' story at all. Doesn't explain anything well enough for someone who hasn't read the books to have any clue what's happening. Just, the worst.

Watched the opening scene and immediately knew they had pulled a Will Smith. They took fantastic source material and made a movie where two works had very little common other than the title. By about half way through I just didn't care about any of what was transpiring on the screen. By the end I was angry at what they had done.

But what if you're a jock like me that doesn't waste time reading books?

Would I like the movie?
