Hey guys, its been some time since ive last posted in the forum. Well like the title says, im picking up and moving from NY to Las Vegas.( leaving NY Sept 2) Its a big move for me and im nervous of course and excited at the same time. I have a friend im going to be staying with, but outside of that one person, i will be a stranger in a strange land ( well not that strange, ive been out to vegas numerous times lol ). Ill be looking to go to dealing school and hopefully get a job in that market (casino games, not poker dealing ), ive already talked to some schools out there and got some good info. So basically the jist of this post is to see if anyone has anything they might want to share, people on this forum that live in Vegas, what i can expect, anything in general..... Obviously im a poker player as well, but just a hard core rec player, not a professional, so please dont think im going out there to take my shot rounders style lol. Just trying something different in life and see where it takes me. Any Info would be great, and also making some new friends in a new place would be nice as well.... thanks in advance

Good luck with the move out there, I lived there for a year and a half. one thing I think is important is to have a job lined up before you get out there, even if its a low paying job just to have a secure pay check while you look for dealer schools. I don't know much about poker dealing/ school etc but I know a pretty good amount about poker related stuff about the city, if you have any questions feel free to ask em in here ( so more people can benefit ).. good luck with the move, its exciting/ nervous/ happy/ sad all rolled into one.

I completely agree with WhatArunAA. Ive lived out here for 3 1/2 years now and would definitely recommend occupying a job prior to getting out here. Any job. Our economy and job market isn't what it nearly was when I first moved here.

+1 to the job search and the 3 1/2 years of living out here.

WhatArunAA, Maybe you have told the story in an older thread, but what is your story? Why ya moved to Vegas? Why ya left? etc....
