FCP Bob 1,312
Here's an Op-Ed from Dan O'Brien on the 1st Card Off The Deck Rule that Daniel hates so much. Daniel obviously agrees with the points in this article. Op-Ed: The Case Against the "First Card Off the Deck" Rule

NickCave 194
I'm on Team: FCOTD. If I have to watch another dealer add an extra beat between every pitch, because Captain Awesome has his hand up, so as to indicate that HE'S NEARLY THERE, I'll kill myself. Get to your ****ing seat. Or, even better, stay in your ****ing seat. Just stay there. Why are we catering to people who AREN'T IN THEIR SEATS? ****ing sit your ass down, dammit. Sit down, let the dealers pitch, and let's go. If you have something else to do, you miss a hand. It's not a huge deal: you missed a hand. Ugh, shut up everyone else. EDIT: As somebody who has spent a non-negligible amount of time both playing and dealing poker tournaments, I have no sympathy for players who aren't sitting. I'm familiar with the arguments for both sides. The arguments for the Last Card Hits The Button side are stupid. Nobody else will ever post in this thread, but I am so stupidly furious about it anyway. "Hey, I want to go to the rail to WHATEVER" is not a good argument. I am more than willing to debate anybody on this issue, and I'm sure I'd win. If you're playing, play. You don't have the right to wander.
king_tanner 84
Ugh, shut up everyone else. No you shutup Nobody else will ever post in this thread, hi So here is my question for you. How exactly does it slow a tournament down when a player is not sitting down when the first card is in the air? If they make it to their seat in time when action is on them nothing has slowed down, if they are not at their seat when action is on them it is an insta-muck which also doesn't slow things down. So whether they play the hand or get their hand mucked, how does this first card rule effect anything at all? Btw I didn't watch the video past the boobs
