  1. both people in the hand were forced to post blinds, it is correct to raise here, especially with a good table image (which i probably did, playing tight and then raising preflop sometimes works).turn bet was a shot in the dark. i would have liked to be up against one opponent rather than two, or at least drive one of them out... oh well... it turned out EP had QJs, MP had AJo and took the pot. i am a little surprised that AJ called the turn, and i thought AJ might fold on the river (AQ or AK would probably raise preflop), but it was his first hand at the table, i simply had no idea how he
  2. i understand that the turn cap is probably +EV, especially HU. but in a cash game i think this is a little too aggressive, asking to get busted by an 8
  3. nothing really too exciting, but really wanted to know whether a bet on the river is something people fold to here.Party Poker 0.5/1 Hold'em (9 handed) converterPreflop: Hero is CO with [Ts], [Ad]. MP3 posts a blind of $0.5. UTG calls, 3 folds, BB calls, UTG calls, MP3 calls.Flop: (8.50 SB) [7h], [8h], [5s] (4 players)BB checks, UTG checks, MP3 checks, Hero bets, BB folds, UTG calls, MP3 calls.Turn: (5.75 BB) [4s] (3 players)UTG checks, MP3 checks, Hero bets, UTG calls, MP3 calls.River: (8.75 BB) [4d] (3 players)UTG checks, MP3 checks, Hero checks.Final Pot: 8.75 BB
  4. the problem with not raising pre-flop, if you get the flop you want, and everyone misses, the pot is not big enough for them to give you action, and you end up winning only one small bet from everyone, rather than two.a bet PF could be anything from QQ to TT and KQo. with a flop like AAK, people would be very willing to bluff at you, or play their KT, or KQ pairs. a limp PF and a raise on AAK would put you on A-rag suited, so it's tough for KT to make that call.six handed, i absolutely raise AJo. ten handed, AJo is raisable if you have a decent chance of stealing blinds and/or isolate some
  5. there were like 5 people in the pot, a call with small suited connectors is fine. the thing i don't like about it is in this big a pot anyone else would be calling with other suited connectors like 67, 87, 65, or T9. two pair on the board is tough though. the turn looks like a call down play unless either either street is reraised. the river is normally a fold, but with the large pot, maybe a call just to see. i'm guessing the unhappy lady has T9s. PF raiser has some premium pair, BB has 87s.
  6. how can you call yourself good with such a big leak in your game? j/k. try online. action is definitely better than any satellites you find in Michigan or Chicago, plus it will let you work on your game more than a live table.I play locally with friends and random strangers who walk into our game, and I never left a loser. but i get a quick reality check every couple of weeks when i try $2-4 or $200 NL online.
  7. Question for anyone using pokertracker.I can setup GameTime to show me these table stats. VP$IP/PFR/BB/100/Went to Showdown/Won $ at Showdown. To me the last 3 numbers are useless. I only look atthe first 2. I want VPIP to be high >30 or even >35 is ideal, and PFR to be low, <5 is good, around 3 is best. (I've stopped using pot size for selection, it's only skews my judgement.) on the other hand, if VPIP drops below 25% it's time to leave and PFR >10 is time to go look for something softer. anyone agree/disagree? any other stats to look for?thx
  8. this is exactly why the Button must make some sort of play pre-flop. It's folded to you, A9s is certainly something you'd play, so against the blinds, you gotta RAISE. with 99, against the button raiser the correct play for him is to raise and put you on an ace, after which you'd most certainly put him on a pair and be mindful of a set.if he deviates from this, and just calls PF, then checks on the flop, you again would have to raise probably $10-15. A smooth-call from him or a reraise again should tip you off that he may have a monster.none of this is foolproof. i've lost hands like this
  9. I should also say, this poll is in no way tracked. (either by me or pokertracker). i've read that people managed to not pay for pokertracker and still use it to the fullest, but the obvious advantage to paying is all the free patches and updates.
  10. wanted to throw it out there. i've used pokertracker and gametime+ for the demo period, still debating whether to spend $55.
  11. the thing about flush draws, if he hits it with the 4:spade: i have a very weak redraw, otherwise i am dead. with a reraise like this, i am most likely behind with a two outer or runner-runner to win.
  12. sorry, had a paragraph typed up, but cut it away before posting. the reads should be on there now

  14. I've contacted him allready... waiting for a reply.i've had a few hands not be converted properly. especially in NL, raise, re-raise, re-raise all-in generates rather bad summary, with the pot equal to only the original amount before reraises. anyone seen this problem? and/or emailed the author about it?
