Aaron Sanchez throwing that gem shows he is our ace IMO

What a clutch performance. So who is starting Tuesday.

I think it is liriano or stroman. Besides that gen stroman threw against Yankees he has not been good this year.

I rather liriano pitch

12 pm start or 9 am for Serge

It's just a matter of taking off your foul-mouthed, beer swilling fanatical hat for a moment and putting on your decent human hat.

as a jaded blue jays fan, my arguments for signing Bautista for whatever he is asking:   1. If they don't spend it on Bautista, it won't get "Better spent elsewhere" on other players. This is the bl

Here's a good example how the Jays current run can establish life long fans throughout the county.   My nephew who is 11 years old lives in Montreal and only cared about hockey last few years. Love

You guys are nuts! Every team has celebrated clinching the wildcard birth EVERY freaking team. Why would the Jays say no we're not going to celebrate.

Really like Brunt and Blair this mornings show was really good.

lol, you guys are so touchy.

no one said every team doesnt celebrate.

If they get knocked out after 1 game, this season will have been a big disappointment for me as a fan, and I dont see anything to celebrate about for the accomplishments they made. If being in the top 33% of the league is something worth winning, than YAY.

Am I happy they are still alive? Yes.

Do I think they have played up to a standard I thought they should? Hell no. The starters have been great and much better than anyone could have expected, but the hitting has been below average and dreadful lately, the bullpen shaky, and the defense atrocious at times.

They can do whatever they want, I really dont care and dont judge....but if you ask me, I dont celebrate making it into the playoffs. As a fan, Im not satisfied, are you guys??

Next time an NHL teams finishes 10th overall and makes the playoff, let me know how the celebration goes.

And if you're going to tell me this is tradition, tradition was when only 2 teams in the American League made it into the playoffs. That was a feat, winning the division.

Good for them, they had a stressful week and made it in. We are all happy as fans, because it got a little too close for comfort, so glad they are still alive. But I dont feel like they accomplished anything, and lose Tuesday, this season is a big loss for many IMO.

My mindset would be dont celebrate til I accomplish something worthwhile. Dont do it in my life, dont be so cocky about nothing. Thats just me.

fwiw, I dont really care about this at all. lol

Its just that it came up here, I said AGREE with Dave, and then I ranted for not much reason. :)

I think its a non-issue, I just wouldnt do it

btw, its not a superstition thing for me. I just truly believe in the power of the mind, and I think there is something to be said for feeling hungry/desperate to get more, and not be so quick to celebrate the steps to your big goal. Its not superstition, its making sure you dont feel satisfied in any sense.

I don't think it's a big deal either...and I don't think anyone in the clubhouse with be satisfied with anything less than a World Series win.

In my mind, the Jays haven't made the playoffs until they win Tuesday. And I agree that the season will be a massive disappointment if they lose Tuesday, because I still honestly believe they are the best or possibly second best team in the AL (Boston is really good)

but, the thing is, it's not like the players went out and bought the champagne and taped up the dressing room. That's all done by the team and it's just something that they do. Are they just supposed to stand around and refuse to drink the free champagne and beer, and refuse to enjoy the moment Just so they can be the "cool and relaxed" team that doesn't celebrate?

It actually still is a big deal to be one of the final 10 teams standing, even if the current playoff structure is gimmicky and stupid. And let's be honest, even though the jays are a better team than the Orioles, they are still going to lose like 40% of the time on Tuesday, and if Joey and Edwin leave, there's a pretty good chance this is the last time they will be sipping champagne in quite awhile, so I say let them have their fun.
