  1. I haven't never been out to the WSOP before, but am thinking about going this year. What I was wondering is what the satellite situation is like. I am fairly sure they have 1 table satellites to most of the Hold'em events, but I was wondering if they also have satellites to some of the other events (i.e.. Stud, HORSE, Omaha 8). Any information from those of you who have been there would be helpful. Thanks.
  2. Last night I was playing at the Borgata at a 1-2 table. I had been there a while and and basically treading water. I bought in for $200 and was just fluctuating between $100 and $300 all night. This hand came up and I can't decide if I made the right decision or not, I think the call would be marginal, but I still think maybe I should have made it in hindsight. The Hand:I am on the button with 8h7h. Two early players limp in, I limp and the small blind completes. The big blind raises $5 to $7 total. This was a very odd raise to say the least. The typical raise at this table was about $1
  3. I disagree with a lot of the people saying either reraise preflop or jam on the flop, I think that would be a big mistake. I would have probably thrown my hand away before the flop. You have an UTG player raising 7x the BB and someone flat calling behind him. To me this is not the position I want to be in with a drawing hand. To add to that you still have several players behind you still to act that may reraise behind you. On the flop I would be pretty wary about getting overly involved with the hand as well. You have TPTK, but you in against 4 or 5 other people. Chances are that flop h
  4. I say fold. I understand that you have 16-1 on your call, which is overwhelming odds, but this is a tournament, not a cash game. If you lose you're done, and realistically you may only have 1 out left in the deck. There no chance for a low hand, so right now all you have is queens up, and you're holding one of the remaining 10's. You really have to ask yourself this question: What is more likely, that I go on to win this hand, or that a completely random hand on the next deal will be a better opportunity? Given the circumstances I lean towards the latter. Sure you will not stand to gain
  5. Thanks for the link. I'll check it out.
  6. Suited_up,First of all, congratulations for making it into the Bellagio tournament. That's a great accomplishment. As most people on this forum, I was greatly interested to see how you fared in the WPT event. I have read some of the threads, but to be honest I haven't read through all the threads because all the arguing back and forth started to give me a headache. I don't have any critism on your exit hand, I think you played it fine and it's far too easy to be a Monday morning Quarterback when you weren't the one sitting at the table. My real reason for posting is because I was just intere
  7. I was really impressed by you accomplishments , so I wanted to see what your real name was. After a quick search on-line I was a bit dissappointed. Not to call you out but just wanted point out the following-Joseph Mercurio (RI) -7th place 2002 World Poker Finals $300 limit hold'emSam Haddad - 4th place: 2002 World Poker Finals $1000 nlhFred Kyles- 6th place: 2004 Four Queens Poker Classic $120+1rebuy nhlI don't know which one of these is you, but I'm fairly sure you're not all three. I'm pretty sure my information is accurate, so I find it sad that you would misrepresent yourself this way.
  8. I can certainly understand what you are saying about him pulling a delayed bluff, but if he has a consistant pattern of that then you are probably better off using that information to trap him with a big hand. I think, IMO, many times when someone identifies a player as loose they tend to never give them credit for ever having a hand. Certainly you must play a loose player differently then you would a tighter one, but this doesn't mean always assume he has absolutely nothing. If he's playing loosely and delay bluffing a lot, don't worry, you'll catch him eventually. You just need to find t
  9. I really don't understand his play, but to be quite honest I'm not really sure of your thought process either. The preflop raise was fine, but after that you start to lose me a bit. You decide when the flop comes down 4 K T that you still probably have the best hand? I don't see why that's a logical assumption. Sure your opponent is playing loosely, but does that mean he couldn't possibly be holding a K or Ten? Regardless, I agree with taking a stab at the pot here, many times you'll take it down right there. After he calls the bet on the flop, you then proceed to fire again on the turn when
  10. I was playing a $5-$5 no limit game at a b&m in New Orleans yesterday. I was running well, and ended up getting the krabler in MP. In my head all I could hear is "If I don't raise with the Krablar, I can't win with the Krablar....". I raised it up to $15 and got called in 2 spots. The flop was K-x-x, no flush or straight draws. I bet out $30 and both folded and I took down the pot, but I have a huge regret. I didn't show the hand and didn't dance the Krablar dance. I ended up winning pretty big for the night, but somehow it just didn't feel right.
  11. Thanks Troutsmart. I really felt that it was a mathmatical no-brainer, but actually seeing those figures makes me feel better about decision.
  12. Thanks for the input. I think I definately was the shortest stack at that that point, and I really looked at it as an automatic call. I guess I'm just trying to determine if laying it down was in fact a viable option.
  13. I was playing in a 150 person tournament in AC today. The buy-in was 120. There were 150 people and the tournament paid the top 18.We were down to 20 people on 2 tables and playing hand by hand. So there was no stalling to try to get into the money (a tactic that I really dispise). I had been doing well but the cards were very cold for the last 45 minutes and the blinds were eating me alive. One more player got knocked out so we were down to 19 and the following situation came up.The blinds are 4000-2000 with a 500 ante. I had 8,500 in chips. I am in the big blind so I am already in for
