pezeveng 207
Cubs last won world series in 1908 40 years later, Indian win their last world series 1948 40 years later, LA Dodgers win their last world series 1988 So if 40 is the lucky number Jays are in their 40th season! pezeveng 207
Ryan Goins HR tonight...calling it now. I would have him batting 1st instead of Jose!
Babying 613
Let's do this
Babying 613
Not the start we wanted
mrdannyg 274
Every ball hit hard in the first. Stroman has had some bad starts and I'm afraid a team really concentrating on scouting him will see something. We should be able to knock the crap out of their pitchers today and tomorrow so let's roll! Also, another great move by Gibbons with today's lineup. Would've liked to see carrera or pillar hitting last maybe it that's extremely minor. Top 3 is great, and you guys wanting Goins hitting leadoff are nuts. Imagine him getting more atbats than Donaldson!
mrdannyg 274
Just like Wayne said - called 3rd strike to Bautista was close, but definitely in the zone. I love drawing walks, but you gotta foul off close pitches
Babying 613
Geez. I rather have Bauer pitching

MapleLeafpoker 1,462
I have never seen anything like this before. (too obvious? like, WTF???)
Dubey 1,035
I don't know if this is good or bad for the Jays
digitalmonkey 929
So there are teams that don't concentrate on scouting the opposing pitcher?
serge 904
Francona had said Kluber would pitch tomorrow. Which is good. But first thing we must win this game
mrdannyg 274
So there are teams that don't concentrate on scouting the opposing pitcher? I hate it when you make me state the obvious instead of just making your point! But yes, teams probably scout a little more in-depth against a playoff opponent with several days of prep than against an in-season opponent.
mrdannyg 274
For this game alone, we were better off against a hurting Bauer. A bullpen game is very strong since relievers are harder to score against in general, and definitely when they have a couple amazing ones who can go 2+. Overall it helps, since it'll tire them out and force kluber to go early, and they'll have to make decisions going forward knowing Bauer may not be available which could handicap them. Like serge said...gotta win this game though or it's all moot (probably). Going 1/22 with 2 outs and RISP tells you everything. It's a stat that is so critical and pretty much 100% luck. Feel bad for Bauer, he is a likeable dude and it must be killing him to not be able to go especially when the injury was some dumb shit.

I would imagine these teams know just about everything there is to know about players.
mrdannyg 274
Just pointing out how good this Indians team could be. They're missing two starting pitchers, their starting catcher and best outfielder
mrdannyg 274
I doubt it. I would imagine these teams know just about everything there is to know about players. Strongly disagree with this. Having a couple advanced scouts and some analytics guys doing their day-to-day is very different from your entire scouting department spending several days on only a few guys, both in terms of what they might learn and how much attention the players will actually pay to them lol Disclaimer: the above is stated as if I think it is factual when it is 100% personal opinion
mrdannyg 274
Yikes, lead off walk and Donaldson, Edwin and Tulo with weak popups against a multi-inning reliever and not a single good swing. That did not look like a playoff team.
digitalmonkey 929
I'd pinch hit Mario Mendoza if he were available.
Babying 613
We should hit this guy at least. His name is zach
digitalmonkey 929
Outside and in the dirt...couldn't hold up...bats sucking ass
digitalmonkey 929
Lead off triple...if they don't bring him in I'm driving to Toronto to run over Bautista on his scooter.
serge 904
Lead off triple...if they don't bring him in I'm driving to Toronto to run over Bautista on his scooter. Not quite a hr. But goins more Rbis then Top of lineup. Please predict more
Babying 613
We should hit this guy at least. His name is zach Geez. The hook came really early
