Wed. Night Strat Tourney Time Again!

Recommended Posts

Come and play! Again, the password is fcpfcp.Stupidkid has won it all two weeks in a row, and there is therefore a ten point bounty on his head this week. We're right in the middle of a ten week cycle, and here are the standings (total points earned are in parentheses):1: SlackerInc (67 pts)2: stupidkid888 (50)3: goheels/JAS II (45)4: Copernicus/TheDominator (37)5: tripdeuces/mrbumpkin (36)6: tskilz187 (25)7: simo_8ball (20)8: conor_mw (16)9: Yahkin (16)10(tie): IBTHEPENNY (13)10(tie): meservery/ererevsym (13)12: Gallo (9)13: vivian.girls/navybuttons (7)14: aucu (6)15: Naslund44 (5)16(tie): GrinderMJ (4)16(tie): KevinJA8 (4)18: Zach6668 (3)19(tie): KYSlim05 (1)19(tie): dereeekho (1)So, a good battle shaping up. SK is rising with a bullet; OTOH goheels has been very consistent and--especially if he were to get the bounty this week--is also contending for the top spot. The rest of the top five is a dogfight too. And even if you are down lower, or haven't played yet, why not shoot for a top ten or top five finish yourself?ETA: I will be out of town for the final week of this cycle (June 13), so I'll need to build up a good lead! So in that case I did the opposite of "rigging" it, lol; I should have made it a nine week cycle if I thought it through. I will also be gone the following week (June 20); so let's plan on having a week off between cycles and restarting June 27 (the day on which I've promised pay the buy-in for the previous cycle's winner; I'm still hoping others will throw prizes into the pool as well--c'mon, you cheap bastards! lol).

Can't play tonight and likely not again til July-ish booo. Old man Softball Beer league comes first. I got my priorities set straight.
That's a bummer, skilz. You always keep things lively!Oh well, I see we have three people registered already, an hour and a half out. Hopefully that portends a good turnout tonight!

I may sign up depending on how happy or pissed I am about the UB tourney at that point. I will be in the FTOPS event at the same time but may use the strat tourney as an opportunity to play like a maniac for a while. If I play for $5.50, you do NOT want to test me with any reraises without a hand, cause I'll be lookin' to gamboooooooooooooooooooolllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll....

First push I'm ok with, I jus reread the hand and you don't have a lot of fold equity since Villain is getting like 2-1+ on his call but you have a lot of outs if you get called and I'd probably also shovel there , the 2nd one I'm not a huge fan of the shove or the call pf due to SBs stack size, would you have called a flop shove??

Right after I was eliminated, it really became an amazing match. It started out with goheels as super short stack (about 700 or so, IIRC); yet he had amassed a dominant stack later while still four handed! In between there were various players who were huge stacks or shorties at various points: it was enough to make your head spin. And unlikely though it seemed earlier, the final result was the worst case for me as it allowed both stupidkid and goheels to gain the maximum points on me (since goheels got the ten point bounty on stupidkid; there will be a five point bounty on him next week).Without further ado, tonight's order of finish and points awarded:1: goheels/JAS II (34 pts)2: stupidkid888 (16)3: aucu (10)4: monixc (8) 5: SlackerInc1 (5) 6: kestral123/DonkMeister (4) 7: Yahkin (3) 8: Gallo (2) 9: Zach6668 (1)Now, here are the standings after week six (of a ten week cycle):1: goheels/JAS II (79 pts)2: SlackerInc (72)3: stupidkid888 (66)4: Copernicus/TheDominator (37)5: tripdeuces/mrbumpkin (36)6: tskilz187 (25)7: simo_8ball (20)8: Yahkin (19)9(tie): aucu (16)9(tie): conor_mw (16)11(tie): IBTHEPENNY (13)11(tie): meservery/ererevsym (13)13: Gallo (11)14: monixc (8)15: vivian.girls/navybuttons (7)16: Naslund44 (5)17: kestral123/DonkMeister (4)18(tie): GrinderMJ (4)18(tie): KevinJA8 (4)18(tie): Zach6668 (4)21(tie): KYSlim05 (1)21(tie): dereeekho (1)Methodology: X is the number of players on a given night. Y is the number of players ITM that night. First, everyone gets x-[number of players remaining when they bust out]. Then the "bubble boy" gets a consolation prize of an extra 25% bump in his points. The remaining players who are ITM get bonuses as follows:[(y+2) - (place finished)] ^2 * 10%The "^2" means "squared".Everything rounds up.Everyone check and keep track of your own points in case I mess something up.Congrats to goheels who is the first points leader under this system who is not me. Obviously stupidkid is also breathing heavily down my neck. The rest of you need to keep coming out and prove your mettle!

Obviously in since I'm a target...Monixc/Donkmeister FCP names? Is Donkmeister Kestral?
Donkmeister is Kestral, but I don't know about Monixc. I just noticed Monix is from Duluth though! Assuming that's MN rather than GA, I'm bummed that I didn't notice this during the match, as this is my former hometown (I'm going back there for my 20th HS reunion this summer) and still where my mom lives.
