The Official Asdfjkl; Thread (08/09 Fchl Champion)

The asdfjkl; embark on a new season after a disappointing 07/08 campaign. GM Biatch has stepped up to the plate this off-season though and acquired some of the best talent in the world. He has searched the pyramids, the Great Wall of China, DisneyLand, and even the BatCave, and now has the following roster. Some of the players weren't included as they are likely going to expansion teams or the asdfjkl; don't care about them. Sidney Crosby signed to a 3 year deal ($22.75, $23.75, $25.50)Rick Nash signed to a 4 year deal ($11.50 each year)Daniel Alfredsson signed to a 1 year deal ($14.75)Olli Jokinen signed to a 1 year deal ($12.50)Scott Gomez signed to a 4 year deal ($5.75 each year)Alexander Semin signed to a 4 year deal ($2.25, $2.50, $2.75, $3.00)Derek Roy signed to a 2 year deal ($2.00 each year)Anze Kopitar signed to a 4 year deal ($1.50 each year)Lee Stempniak signed to a 4 year deal ($1.00 each year)Mason Raymond signed to a 5 year deal ($1.00 each year)Marek Zidlicky signed to a 3 year deal ($4.00 each year)Keith Ballard signed to a 4 year deal ($1.50 each year)Mike Van Ryn signed to a 4 year deal ($1.00 each year)Anton Babchuk signed to a 4 year deal ($0.25 each year)Andrew Greene RFA ($1.00)Derek Morris RFA ($0.75)Brian Pothier RFA ($.0.75)Ville Koistenten RFA ($1.00)Philadelphia Flyers signed to a 4 year deal ($1.50 each year)New York Islanders signed to a 4 year deal ($0.50 each year)Currently my farm team looks like:Van Riemsdyk, JamesFrolik, Michael Bergfors, NicklasBacklund, MikealAnisimov, Artem Mayorov, Maxim Staal, Marc McNeill, PatrickCohen, Colby Smith, Brendan McDonagh, RyanThe cap usually is $65 for each time, but the asdfjkl; have acquired thru trades $112.75 in cap space and still have about $30 to use at the FA draft. The main things we will be looking for our defencemen as we are currently weak there. And also a few role-players to give the team an emotional boost. Welcome to the 1st chapter of the fairy tale story of the 2008 2009 FCHL Champions.

I started Mustangs World and I can't even be the sole FCHL team you cheer for? An endorsement from Serge would be a huge emotional lift for my team.
I am giving you a 50% endorsement now..I will hold off on a full endorsement till later... :club:

You need to step onto a podium and announce that, Daniel Alfredsson is awaiting your response with his big shiny swedish blue eyes.
If you didnt have Alfie on your team, there would be no doubt about my endorsement.

The Royal Oak Fearsome Beavers picked up Kyle Wellwood last night. He wasn't part of the trade discussion but he was thrown in by the other team because "I just don't want to pay his salary".

I have decided to keep my allegiance to the Hartford Whalers and a semi allegiance to Ottawa Biatch's team.

The asdfjkl; have just acquired Tanguay thru a trade:Giving up to Kansas City Reserves:The BlackDevilHawks 2010, Round 1 Draft PickFrolik, Michael (FLA) - $1 FarmGoing to the asdfjkl;Tanguay, Alex (MTL) - $8.25 signed for four years at $8.25$7.25 of salary cap space in 08/09$8.25 of salary cap space in 09/10$8.25 of salary cap space in 10/11$8.25 of salary cap space in 11/12$1 of salary cap space in 12/13I think it's worth it because of the good situation in Montreal, even if it's only for one year.

Not sure about this one. The only way this trade might be salvagable on your part is if you buyout Tanguay's contract. In essence you traded Frolik and the 2010 #1 (expecting it to be a high one too) for $4 in cap space for 4 years. As a former Tanguay owner, I dont see his points going above 70 even in Montreal and most of his points are assists anyway.Me thinks the Biatch got the worse for this one

Even if it only is 70, I would still be happy with that. My team is competing for this year and I just need guys who I know can produce. His contract might seem like a lot, but it didn't hit my cap at all since I got it all paid for. Was it a high price to pay? Yes. But if Tanguay can be a solid producer for this year, I think it could be worth it. And I think he will break-out this year too..

Excellent intelligent repsonse by the Biatch. He must be sober

I think tanguay will hit at least 80 points next season. after that, who knows. even if biatch wants to trade him for cheap just to unload the contract, he gets to keep a whopping $33 in cap...

I might be wrong, but I don't think he has ever reached 80 in his career even with all that fire power in Colorado. I don't see his situation in Montreal being better than the Avalanche years and I think he might be a little past his prime. Contract might be tough to trade. In a normal non-expansion year, I am almost certain you can get better value for $ 8.25 at the annual free agent draft.

his totals so far have been 51, 77, 48, 67, 79, 78, 81, and 58 this last season. yeah, he missed it by 1-3 points in colorado a few times. he's only 28... I don't think he's past his prime at all. I'll leave the production predictions up to dale, but tanguay is a lock to play with koivu. as far as the cap, I don't know. depends on what davey does in 2010 and how frolik takes to the NHL. it's a bit early to say who won or lost on this one imo.
