  1. I stand corrected. In any case, you're right. Behavioral profiling is the way to go. I actually saw something on ABC's World News Now that said that Israel's last airport attack was 20 years ago, by an Irish woman.
  2. What DN said about Israel's airport security is right, in that their security is some of the best in the world, and that is largely due to behavioral profiling. It seems that he got the issue a little mixed up, though. Behavioral profiling and racial profiling are two different things. Behavioral profiling, to my knowledge, does not take into account things like name, race, age, gender, and the like. Rather, it considers a person's behavior while in the airport. Apparently, potential terrorists exhibit certain behavior patterns, and further investigation is carried out if a person exhibits the
  3. Anyone else think it's kind of funny that, in insulting someone else's intelligence, he not only used "your" instead of "you're," but also used the word, "ignorant," wrong?Ignorant means uninformed, not stupid. It's not really an insult.
  4. Yeah, I was actually defending you. You know, saying that everyone else shouldn't be "bashing" your opinion. Not too perceptive, huh? That's all I have to say.
  5. This forum has a problem. The guy who started this topic merely stated his opinion on who the most underrated player is, and now it has degenerated into a childish debate over what the definition of "underrated" is. Seriously, guys, get over yourselves. You don't have to try to prove that you're smarter than anyone else by tearing down his or her opinions. This topic, at heart is a good one; lots of people have differing opinions on this subject, and it would be great to find out what everyone else thinks. It does not, however, have to be a debate. Opinions are opinions, after all-- no one pers
  6. probably about 8-10 a day, but I'm a student, and it's summer.
  7. So I get that it is named after an oil spill in Santa Barbara, but why in the world would it be? What I mean is... neither the words "Ace" and "King" nor the letters "A" and "K" seem to have any relation to the events in Santa Barbara, which is in California, not Alaska.I would think it would be named after the Exxon spill, which was in Alaska, postal abbreviation AK.
  8. This is why Daniel Negreanu is the most entertaining player around.
  9. What would you guys say is the best strategy for playing shortstacked in a tourney? Also, how low (in comparison to blinds and other players' stacks) do you need to be before you get desperate? (in other words, how short is short stacked?)
  10. I have never seen a fish check/raise, for the record. If a fish hits trips with a rag kicker, he check/calls because he's worried the other guy has trips with a higher kicker. I've even seen fish fold boats to a raise because they were worried the other guy's full house was higher.I've been reading since Day 1, and I love this experiment. Your fish play started out um....un-fishy, but is progressing. The K-7 hearts "because they were suited" and the A-2 all-in are classic.Keep up the good work.
  11. Score one for us Phil fans, small in number though we may be. Helmuth is up to 25K in chips.Look out for bracelet #10!hahaEdit: The Mouth is also at 25 K, behind Devilfish (35K) and Can Hua (30K)
  12. hour break...haven't had an update in twoedit: saw an update as soon as i posted this....that's what I get for complaining
  13. Still, the fact is that, unless there was actually some illegal activity going on, they wouldn't be able to do crap about it until it was made illegal. The "kids drinking at three" thing is exactly the sort of mindset that we, as poker players, try to combat every day. There is nothing wrong with poker. To compare teaching kids to gamble responsibly as well as a valuable skill to exposing children to the negative effects of alcohol is just stupid.Anyway, my point is, the social stigmas are rapidly disappearing. It might not work now, but in 3-5 years? It's a definite possibility. For the recor
  14. I've been thinking about something ever since read one of DN's Cardplayer articles a while back...or maybe it was in his blog, I don't remember. Anyway, he said that he talked with someone about not sending kids to school, but instead teaching them poker so they can make $100,000 a year.Okay, while I realize that that is extreme, I think that teaching kids poker is a great idea. Poker is quickly becoming seen by the masses as a game of skill rather than just a vice, and therefore it wouldn't be considered too taboo to teach it to teenagers.Dunno if this sort of thing is already done, but I th
