So after a long break from playing online (black friday essentially) I have decided to try to play and to play more seriously than I did prior. I have mostly been a recreational player. I play 3 to 4 times a month live at my local casino, and have played the occasional small buy in tourny (up to $300 buyin). When I played online I never used a Hud, and stayed away from a lot of no limit online since I felt that I was at a disadvantage to players who used a HUD. Even today I still play more O8B than NL holdem when I play live, simply because the players at my local casino are so bad at omaha 8.

For a variety of reasons I find myself having the time to play more online poker. I set up an account at ACR and made a deposit. I decided this time I want to play 6 handed no limit, and mutitable. I have been playing 25 NL 4 tables, and I am using a HUD. I played about 4k hands and was up $25. So I decided to read some articles by Doug Polk, and others, and try to switch up my play. I quickly burned through $200 in about 500 hands.

So the question I have, does anyway have any history with how Doug's system works and if it is really a winning system? Is it worth the pain as I attempt to learn to play his style?

I know this a non-specific post, but I would say that typically I have a played an aggressive position focused style. Doug's system has me defending the blinds more and checking back the flop when in position in spots where I wouldn't normally do these things. This is making it harder for me to put people on hands in later streets and I am making bigger dollar mistakes later in the hand. (bluffing into the nuts, hero calling when I shouldn't, etc.)

So I guess this forum is completely dead now.

To answer your question slightly, I'm not familiar with his system, but I know that following the advice of a friend that crushes that I started checking back more flops than I used to. I think it has had decent results. Maybe post some example hands?
