I usually play low-limit NLHE Sit-n-Go's and have had a lot of success doing so but these days I'm pretty busy and often don't have enough time to be able to commit 1-2 hrs to play a Sit-n-Go. I want to improve my Limit Hold-em game since I've had difficulty transitioning from NLHE to LHE. What is a good site to play 0.25/0.50 or 0.50/1 LHE? I don't necessarily want the softest site, I just want a reasonable site where I can improve my game without getting slaughtered. I would prefer to play one of the 6 that I currently have accounts at: Party, Poker Stars, Full Tilt, Ultimate Bet, Pokerr

Obviously, this topic applies to no-limit or pot-limit poker but I was wondering how people decide how much to raise another person's bet if they are trying to protect a hand. This is pretty general but I'm mostly just looking for people's thoughts or wondering if there is any useful math. Suppose you flop a set but there's a flush draw that you want to protect against, or you have A-x on an A-y-z board and want to raise another person's bet to get information about their kicker. Is your raise a function of the player's bet or of the pot or both?

What do you guys keep notes on as far as other player's tendencies? I once tried to make a chart to keep track of different categories like "check-raise", "bluff-raise", etc. but found that I was trying to keep track of too many things. I figure that tight aggressive, loose-passive, loose-aggressive is probably too broad. I was just wondering which tendencies you all find most helpful to track.

I've been reading about all these different rake back plans for players opening new accounts on certain sites. I'm not sure if I play enough to really make it that worthwhile (approx 1 hr of 0.10-0.25 NLHE a day). However, I was interested in knowing if there is a downside to this, such as identity theft risk, spam mail, etc. It just sounds like too much of a win-win proposition.

Alright, I agree with what Abbaddabba stated. I do make money off these players so I concur that I should have said that they were tough to read, rather than tough players. However, I also lay down the best hand more often against them and/or continue to bet when I don't realize that I'm beat. I think that because I play frequent short sessions online, even though I come out ahead in the grand scheme, I have more losing sessions dealing with this.

I realize the fish are supposed to make you more money because they are making decisions with negative EV and all. And I also understand that is one of the main reasons that sites like PartyPoker are very popular and generally considered more profitable than, say, Full Tilt Poker. However, I think that very same feature makes PartyPoker more difficult for me. You're supposed to try and read a player's hand based on their betting patterns. Well, when I play on PartyPoker, I find that I can't rely on that anymore. If I raised preflop 3-4xBB with AK and someone in late position calls my rais

That's an interesting one. Any idea why it works?

I've read the Book of Tells by Mike Caro but I was wondering if there were any other good tells that haven't been published before. In the book by Annie Duke, she mentions that she checks out a person's normal blink rate because when they are bluffing, they will tend to blink more rapidly. Any other good reliable ones out there?

I have a general question about protecting against flush draws. If you raised preflop (say, 3 BB) and have a good hand on the flop (say, top pair/good kicker or two pair or set) but the flop is 2-suited, when do you slowplay and when do you not? I often find myself in that situation where I'm pretty sure I have the best hand but I don't really know if my opponent has something like top pair/worse kicker or a possible flush draw. I think partly because I play online, I don't really know how to read the other opponents if it's early on. Often, I'll make a bet of around 3/4 to the whole pot a
