I don't think you know what you're asking or well. I don't think you asked the question in a way we can answer it.

"Like the Red Zone channel or instant replay or jumbotrons. That sort of thing. Doesn't have to be TV related, just things that have made watching sports better."

"Those aren't really sports inventions though, right? Maybe I needed to clarify better.

I'm talking about stuff like the yellow line on your TV that shows the first down mark. Sports specific stuff, not just high definition."

What you see on TV

What: Box Score on Screen
Why: Time saver. remember watching a game for like 5-10 minutes just waiting for the score? All the other crap we get now is super helpful

What: replay/alternate angles
Why: I am the law. instant replay alone is no longer as big of a deal. we have dvr. alternate angles at slower speeds allow us to be judge, jury, and executioner.

What: the bottom line
Why: Omniscience. I can watch the game and know the rest of the scores/stories from the sports world. This spread to other news channels.

What: the first down line
Why: Yes! No! Oh that's close! Al Michaels would remind us that it's not official but it definitely changed how we watch the game. It makes the game simpler to explain.

Other general shit

Jumbotron
DVR
Satellite
ESPN
HD

Jumbotron falls off that list if I need to narrow it to 4. Well I'm dumb. Internet would have to be in there too.
