The objection of a middle aged white male with strong conservative viewpoints has been noted.

Except that couldn't be further from the truth. Disney understands that the business model is rapidly changing and that they needed to adapt as more and more people opt to cut the cable cord. ESPN is attempting to reach a younger, more diverse audience while also maintaining the foundation of what made ESPN successful in the first place. And they have been largely successful in those efforts.

When right wing critics complain of liberal bias and political correctness at ESPN, what they are really complaining about is diversity that frightens middle aged white men who don't know how to respond when two black hosts use lingo they don't like or understand. They want the old ESPN filled with white guys who look like and talk just like them.

And when you have a President who refuses to condemn white supremacists and seemingly targets minorities with nearly every major policy, of course a lineup of more diverse hosts are going to speak out against him.

What the right interprets as liberal bias is simply ESPN providing a platform where the opinions of a diverse set of intelligent and socially aware non white hosts matter just as much as the white guys you wish still dominated the airwaves.

I'm going to give you a helpful piece of insight. You are NOT ESPNs target audience anymore.

Viewership may be declining, but it has very little to do with political bias and everything to do with a changing business model.

An excellent article discussing this exact topic.

I overcooked my post but they are a drag on Disney and that is not going to change in the near future. Quote
from your article "Declining subscribers, a cable bundle that is falling apart,
expensive deals with the NFL, NBA, and others, that are locked in for years to come,
these are the real problems". Even though I really don't want to get into the
political side, that part has had an effect. How much I do not know.

And yes I am totally aware of them changing things dramatically, read the article long time ago.

This is just a bunch of BULLS**T

Really..........He has condemned white supremacists. You know there is nothing he
can say, he will always be attacked. Policies targeting minorities, BULLS**T.
And Jamele Hill tweets were just totally out of line. I am sure the big wigs at the network are not happy about her twitter rant.

What the right interprets as liberal bias is simply ESPN providing a platform where
the opinions of a diverse set of intelligent and socially aware non white hosts

Really.."I WISH", that is the most ignorant thing you have ever posted. I don't do
the WHITE BLACK THING......or any other color.

I'm going to give you a helpful piece of insight. You are NOT ESPNs target audience

I will give you a little insight......I do not do cable. I watch some college
football and all the broadcasts of college I graduated from. In fact i am thankful
for ESPN because the put my college on the map big time.

Viewership may be declining, but it has very little to do with political bias and

Agree......even though we do not know the total impact of the political thing.

I see the new fad is conservatives with "friends in Canada" who say that Canadian healthcare isn't all that great.

The ignorance is truly staggering.

To be fair if you ignore the fact that the US spends almost double the amount per capita, that rural coverage is horrendous, and people get screwed out of coverage all the time then yes.

Another thing to consider is that while emergent care is top notch; for non-life threatening surgeries the wait times can be terrible.

Yes when you hear stories of people waiting months for an MRI, it's for a knee injury or something. If you are sick, you are getting in and getting in quick..

Every anecdote that I've read in the last week from some "friend" of a conservative has been either outright bullshit or very misleading. Our system isn't perfect but if you are sick, you are going to get world class healthcare quickly and it isn't going to bankrupt you.

Are you talking about Canada here? Because everywhere I've been rurally in the US have zero wait times and doctors available to see me without an appointment.

When the truth has become a joke, you just might have a problem. Pretty sad that the Onion is the most honest and accurate news source regarding mass shootings.

The first article is nowhere near the truth. Not only do mass shootings occur more frequently in countries all over Africa, but they also have higher death tolls. I feel like the Dems that ignore Africa are being a tad racist.

This completely ignores Eastern Eupore also.

In the end, though, my gut feeling is that the 86 people that died in Nice, France by getting run over by a truck don't give a shit that they weren't killed by a bullet instead of a tire. But that's just a guess.

I'm also positive that Norway will be thrilled to find out that the 77 kids that Anders Breivik shot are alive and well since that stuff never happens in other countries.

Interesting that on some issues such as attitudes towards Gay people and the value of Immigrants everybody is moving in the same direction eventhough there is a gap.

The ignorance is truly staggering.

I have a few friends in Canada, some from local cigar store and one I travel with.

The one I've traveled with can't say enough good about Canadian healthcare, even had colon cancer dealt with in Canada and was well treated. He also was on the board for the local hospital for many years. He told me they had a rich donor give them an MRI machine, but the government refused to release funds to staff the machine for over a year.

The 2 guys from the cigar store hate the Canadian healthcare system, one of them has a son permanently crippled in his arm because of delay in operating on a bad broken arm. He himself had to drive 2 hours with a concussion to get a cat scan because the local wait time was going to be 2 weeks, so he drove himself to Toronto.

You guys have a small country, with no need for military spending. Free healthcare is possible.

Multiply your population by 10 and your state/provident government agencies by 5, then have lobbyist, insurance companies and healthcare conglomerates write up a new plan and hand it to corrupt politicians and tell me we have a shot at something remotely able to work.

I was in South Africa in 2011.

Couple guys walked into a mall and shot it up with fully auto AKs.

Made the headlines for one day, then it went away. Locals said it happens all the time.
