mrdannyg 274 Posted January 28, 2017 Share Posted January 28, 2017 So far my "favourite" thing from today (one of the darkest days in modern Western history) is that potential visitors/immigrants will now be tested on their agreement with the Constitution...with a President who thinks torture should be legal. that there's no reason for him to try to avoid conflicts of interest, and religious-based immigration is appropriate. Certainly no point bashing serge, though I don't think we ever really did that. To me, he is a really useful reminder that not all Trump voters are pepe-loving Nazis, and many might be actual good human beings. Link to post Share on other sites

Trump has been almost exactly what we warned Serge about; he is implementing all of the negative parts of the platform and all of the hooks that he got people to vote for him are gone. As much as I dislike Balloon Guy (and sometimes wonder if he is Trump and Conway's love child the way he parrots administration PR) at least he is getting the candidate he voted for. Half of Trump's administration called for Snowden to be hanged so we'll never get a real leaker, and anyone who wants to can just hide or obfuscate information because accusations of lack of transparency will just be shoo'ed away in an administration who thinks passing ethics checks or government agencies communicating with the public are meaningless bureaucracy. Our public school system is pretty good (though in Ottawa we have 4 school boards - Public / Catholic English/French lol), only private ones off the top of my head are religious based or arts based. Other than the Montessori ones which are quite popular. If you are worried about your kid falling into the "wrong crowd" (whatever that means) then obviously you need to keep a heads up about buying in the right school catchment area. But Ottawa is a pretty white collar town so your mileage may vary in Toronto,. Link to post Share on other sites
