Want to know if I have anything to root for? it has never happened but if all the OT tie breakers are still tied the home team wins

bigguyren68 155
The predictions are in no way meant to insult or offend anyone. They are purely for entertainment value. Eddie Shack Conference #3 vs #6 Steelheads (48-27-2) +/- 184.0 vs Shootloose (39-36-2) +/- 141.0 Season series tied 3-3 Injuries Steelheads- Paul Stastny STL Day to Day Erik Johnson COL Late-Feb Johnny Oduya DAL Day to Day Brad Richardson ARI Mid-March Conor Sheary PIT Day to Day Jacob Trouba WPG 2 game suspension Shootloose- Mattias Janmark DAL indefinitely The Steelheads look to defend their title with a first round match against Shootloose. Proving how much the make-up of a team can change in a short time, the Steelheads have gone from having an amazing farm at the start of last year to possibly one of the current worse. That being said they have a well balanced team and have moved up to 3rd overall in +/-. Team owner Chris T. has been boasting " I have the hottest team since Christmas", which is ironic considering his profession has him trying to reduce the heat. The schedule has Shootloose missing most of his best forwards through the first 4 games, which will probably be too big a hole to overcome. Steelheads will have an empty goalie night for game #4, but otherwise field very strong lineups games #1-#6. Shootloose would have the favoured lineup in game 7, however I don't see it going that long. Prediction Steelheads in 5. #4 vs #5 Red ravens (41-32-4) +/-141.0 Mustangs (40-31-6) +/-152.0 vs Season series Red Ravens 4-2 Injuries Mustangs- Benoit Pouliot EDM Day to day Red Ravens- Kyle Quincey NJD Day to day Ales Hemsky DAL indefinitely Sven Baertschi VAN Day to Day Bobby Ryan OTT 4-6 weeks Even though both teams have different strengths, this series looks to be very close,. Red Ravens will have 4 of the top 20 NHL point getters available at forward. While the team will lack defensive help, team owner Brian C. has done well to acquire farm help (2015 draft Hanifan and 2016 draft rookie scoring sensation Patrick Laine, as well as swacker trade for Leon Draisaitl). Two empty goalie nights might be an issue for the low scoring nights. On the other side the Mustangs have a strong defense lead by Brett “the bearded beast” Burns, and a solid forward corps. Mustangs will have to deal with a game #1 empty goalie night. Team owner Serge B. proved all doubters wrong this year when he signed Burns to a very high $14.50 contract, but has benefited greatly. Like a Sidney Crosby, Burns can single handily win games for the Mustangs. A very hard series to predict, so I will make the injuries and the empty goalie nights the swing factor. Prediction Mustangs in 7. Tiger Williams Conference #3 vs #6 Whalers (46-28-2) +/- 167.0 vs Pkdealers (37-35-5) +/- 121.0 Season series Whalers 3-2 Injuries Whalers Stephen Johns DAL Day to day Andre Burakovsky WSH late March Gustav Nyquist DET suspension Pkdealers Tyler Myers WPJ gone season Shane Prince NYI Day to day After starting the season slowly, the Whalers made a huge push to end the season and almost grabbed the #1 seed away from the Big M's. As always the Whalers have a very balanced team with solid forwards, very good defense, and even usable farm help at their disposal. Team owner Arp S. has been masterful at motivating his players to perform on AHL nights all season. For example Derek Ryan, ahl game nights for Ryan gp-16,g-8,a-6 for a 0.690 AHL score, while for non-ahl nights Ryan has gp-25,g-0,a-4 for a 0.080 AHL score. 800% better on AHL nights!!!!!, I can't argue with that math. The Pkdealers also started the season off very poorly and at one point were 15 points out of a playoff spot. Getting some injured players back and some mid season trades by team owner Roy H. have climbed the dealers into a playoff spot. However, facing the Whaler might be a very difficult task to overcome. Even with the one empty goalie night and late season suspension to Nyquist, Whalers should squeak by. Prediction Whalers in 6. #4 vs #5 Broadway (41-34-2) +/- 144.5 vs Shortstackers (41-33-3) +/- 142.5 Season Series Broadway 3-2 Injuries Broadway Bryan Rust PIT day to day Joonas Donskoi SJS day to day Dylan DeMelo SJS mid march Anton Rodin VAN day to day Shortstackers Matthew Dumba MIN day to day Mike Green DET day to day Tobias Enstrom WPJ week to week Drew Stafford WPJ day to day Mark Stone OTT day to day A repeat match-up of last years first round. Both teams have had ups and downs this year. Both teams are dealing with some injuries to key players and that will factor into who comes out on top. Team owner Zack H. must very confident in his teams chances as he will not even be at their opening game, and instead in transit travelling out of country. Meanwhile Broadway owner John T. has had in-country presidential distractions that might hurt his team management ability. Goalies could very well be New York Rangers vs Nashville for all games #1 to #6. Probably the closest match-up of the first round. Last year Shortstackers prevailed, however this year Broadway I think gets revenge. Prediction Broadway in 7. Eddie Shack Conference Reject Cup #7 vs #10 Puck warfare (37-38-1) +/- 129.5 vs Underdogs (31-42-4) +/- 120.5 After being a division winner for the last 3 years, Puck Warfare stumbled out of the gate and could never recover. The Underdogs started well, but injuries and opponent scoring derailed the dogs. This series will probably be decided by injuries as Warfare is fairly healthy and the Underdogs will be dealing with missing players. Puck Warfare owner Jay was able to acquire the top goalie set of the year and that should send him to victory. Prediction Puck Warfare in 6 #8 vs #9 Winning Combo (35-41-1) +/- 116.0 vs Cheap Thieves (34-41-2) +/- 74 After making the playoffs for so many straight seasons, the Cheap Thieves failed to make playoffs for the first time since the dawn of the AHL. Both teams decided early in Jan 2017 that the playoffs were not in the cards this year, and as such started the rebuilding process. Like his hometown Las Vegas Knights, team owner Daniel N. going all out in rebuilding and has acquired major assets for upcoming years. Cheap Thieves and Winning Combo will field a combined $70 salary, so positive scores will be usually enough to win. Prediction Winning Combo in 6 Tiger Williams Conference reject cup #7 vs #10 Ingman (33-43-1) +/- 76.5 vs Screaming Eagles (25-48-4) +/- 91.0 Screaming Eagles started the season as one of the favorites to win the South, but a couple sophomore slumps and some injuries proved too much to overcome. Team owner Wayne I. troubles started on draft day when Ingman’s 2nd in command Otto was recruited by Serge B to draft players for Mustangs at auction. Just proves how much a loss of a top management position is hard to recover from. The winner of this series should be the favorite to win the reject cup. Eagles won reject cup last year, but I think this year Ingman wins it. Prediction Ingman in 6 #8 vs #9 Shooters (28-43-6) +/- 112.0 vs Greasballs (26-48-3) +/- 74.5 Not much to say about this match up. Mc Jesus will decide this series. Prediction Greasballs in 6. Good luck to all teams (well maybe not Arp)

bigguyren68 155
A reminder that we no longer have a Shoot Out in the playoffs and only use Overtime. If you want to use an overtime order different than your forwards in order and then your defense in order remember to post your OT order lineup in the AHL Forum as well as posting it in the website. TIES In the event that you finish the game tied with your opponent, your overtime players may determine a winner. In overtime assists are worth the same as goals. Compare the total points of your overtime player with that of your opponents. The team whose overtime player has more points is awarded a goal and wins in overtime In the playoffs, you may submit 2nd, 3rd, 4th ....etc. overtime players from your starting lineup. (no shootouts in the playoffs) If the game remains tied after all the overtime players have been used then the win will go to the team who has the most total goals from his starting lineup. If it is still tied, then the team who has the most assists from his starting lineup will be awarded the win. If a tie still remains then we return to the overtime players and count assists as 1/2 instead of 1 (which is the usual overtime procedure). If the game is still tied, then the home team wins. The home team is the higher seeded team in games 1,2,5 and 7. Hey Bob, just to clarify, first tie breaker is most points ( 2 assists= 1 goal 1 assist). overtime player ours(points) vs overtime player theirs(points) then 2nd player(points) ours vs 2nd player(points) theirs, then 3rd player(points) ours vs 3rd player(points) theirs etc... bigguyren68 155
If you are not a fan of statistical probabilities for line-ups, you can stop reading now and go to next post. Projected scores for current lineups of opening AHL playoff game #1 Steelheads (forwards 2.713, defense 1.239, goalie -1.225) 2.727 Shootloose (forwards 2.445, defense 1.285, goalie -1.270 2.460 Red Ravens (forwards 4.032, defense 0.884, goalie -1.130) 3.786 Mustangs (forwards 2.846, defense 0.446, goalie -2.500) 0.792 Shortstacker (forwards 2.590, defense 1.419, goalie -1.345) 2.664 Broadway (forwards 2.230, defense 0.815, goalie -1.240) 1.805 Whalers (forwards 3.016, defense 1.109, goalie -1.250) 2.875 Pkdealers (forwards 2.702, defense 1.426, goalie -1.345) 2.783 I'm sure tonight's results will be nothing like projected.
