the_stein 0
the best 7 card stud hi AND h/l player at the 2/4 tables and under. This is according to me of course and I have a big ego, but I can't help but tell everyone how good I am at stud. I can say if it wasn't for stud, I would be only a break even poker player. bobbywithani 0
Yeah all my money comes mainly from stud. I just am able to win almost every pot I win about 80% of my showdowns, and in the lower limits the pots are always huge because people just draw and draw and draw. Somedays I take a big loss when they keep drawing with one spade left in the deck and end up making it, but average the pots you can win at stud are amazing on-line. My hi/lo game is really weak, I just don't get it for some reason. I never know when I should be calling, raising etc. Todd Brunsons SS2 chapter didn't help me at all either. Any good books that cover Stud and Hi/lo that I might be able to look at.

But after a while it started clicking and it can be even a bigger moneymaker then just hi
jayboogie 0
Stud Hi/Lo is such an easy game to crush, you have a significant advantage over weak opponents, more so than hold'em. It's real easy to learn basic strategy for it and that's all your going to need for lower limits up to 5/10. You really just need to pay attention to up cards and betting patterns, if somebody has a 3 or 4 showing and they raise, most likely they got 3 suited babies or at least 3 low cards and the odd time rolled up trips, but that's very rare. You should also make sure you work together and sandwich the 2nd best draws in between. If you know somebody made a high hand and you've made your low and you've got a player in the middle, you should check, let the high hand player bet and check raise to take that player in between for more bets. This is essential to making money playing stud hi lo as most pots will be splits, of course you want to scoop the whole pot, but that just doesn't happen all that often. bobbywithani 0
Thanks, I use the check/raise strategy all the time in Omaha Hi/lo, and it works really well. I guess my problem with stud is I have a hard time recognizing when my low will hold up and end up losing a lot.
