Sorry to be picking nits, but I heard that you got $1500 off the buy in for being a "star" and having that bounty on your head. That true?

Yes that's true, but I'm going to call that an appearance fee.  When I have some time I'm going to add my expense report as well as my income from things outside of poker.
Is this guy great or what? I might have to rethink my allegiance to Layne Flack and become a Danny N Fan.

The IRS will get you!!!;)It's interesting to see how open you are about pretty much everything in your life Daniel, from your father to your finances. Thanks for the insight into the mind of a poker-star.You know, your site is a lot like a reality-tv show... only it's not on tv ;)I think I'm addicted

You stole my post, lol. This is very cool, I've always wondered just how well top pro's do per year. But most don't even want to give you a hint of what they really make, maybe hiding it from the IRS? Good luck this year.

Let me start off by saying that I also agree with the others about how cool it is that Daniel is posting all these cash and tournament results for us outsiders to see. But those that are worried about the IRS being on to him are too naive. Daniel knows what he's doing better than anyone else, and he's very smart. I think he realizes the business opportunities that have opened up for him and other poker "superstars" since the recent boom, and he's trying to capitalize on it. Posting these results to relate more to the fans is a great way to increase his fan base, and to make his name more prominent. That is why Daniel has spent so much time doing interviews and all these other public appearances. He is making a name for himself, one in which people will spend money on (much like Hellmuth has done). The fact of the matter is, unless Daniel wins a couple of huge buy-in tournaments this year, he will probably make in his various deals and endorsements as much if not more than what he will make in his tournament and cash games combined. And with the fields getting larger and larger, he must realize that the chances of winning and making final tables becomes harder and harder. Over the long run, it is probably more financially feasible to concentrate as much on the business end of poker as playing it. Of course, he still needs to bring in results in order to maintain or add value to his name. But Daniel should change his title pretty soon, he's really a businessman that plays poker on the side. =P

Guest Stephen

Its very interesting to see the actualy numbers. It gives an insight into poker that you rarely see on TV. Its also very cool to get the personal insight of a kick-ass player. Of course, me being born-and-raised in Toronto, I feel that home-town pride as well. Next time you are in town, let me buy you a beer :club: Keep up the good work man 8)-Stephen

Daniel, what's happened to your tourney play since Feb. 25th? You've been out of the money in every tourney you've entered in that time. Is this due in part to the "bad habit" you mentioned in your journal today?Just curious. I'm looking forward to seeing you at another WPT final table soon! :club:

Hmm, The WPT Championship is oddly missing from this list. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm assuming DN placed in the money on this and isn't supposed to make it public until the show airs. It's interesting how the little news update in the upper right corner of the home page gave an update of his day 1 activities and then just died out.Daniel, what are you hiding?!!! Ha ha. :club:

Not sure if you are joking or something? But anyway...All the results of tournaments (who busts out before the money, who wins, etc. etc.) is avaliable before the tournament airs on t.v. Daniel didn't make the money at the WPT Championship.

Yeah, the results are pretty well known. Tuan Le won in case you were wondering. You can find more results on cardplayer.com. I assume it's not up there cuz it was a tourney from last year, unlike the other events.

April 25 WPT Bellagio 25,500 0 - -25500 This can't be true. It should be 0 0, because you got a free entry in the event for winning a regular season event. You have to configure that WSOP in your next response. Hope you get better luck in the WPT events this season then you did in the WSOP.
