You need to know

The other night on the bad boys of poker WPT, Gus called Antonio over the top all in bet with 8,10d. Both were the chip leaders and antonio told gus over and over before the flop that he didn't get it and that he did not understand while I on the other hand felt as if I understood perfectly well what was going on. Here it goes, I think gus knew where antonio was (small pair) and knew it would be basically a coin flip and was there to show antonio first hand that you had better fold your hand when gus comes over the top or he'll bust you, now antonio also knows and next time probably will fold 99. Mess with the bull and you usually get the horns.

I would say this, Gus did it for these reasons. First they were only playing for $25k which is practically nothing to him, so he either wanted to become a huge stack and play alot of hands or be done with it. The other reason is this, he knew the hand would be shown on TV which sends out the image of him as a gambler and a reckless player even more.

Yes, I agree totally with both points. Also, if Antonio has AK or AQ then gus is 3-2 since he is almost sure that he has 2 live cards. Gus has shown over and over, that he is willing to take a 40% chance at the chip lead. After all chips are power.I thought the fact that Antonio didn't get it, but it was so obvious to me was kinda odd.

I felt I understood what was going on, not "it was so Obvious to me"
