Sorry, I didnít read about you getting your hands on some delicious nose class, fresh from the sea.

Iím gonna look into a credit card for points. If it could get me free nights it would be worth it I think.

I like that, it’s clean and simple. I’ve only owned one metal band watch in my life and I didn’t love the way it felt on my wrist. I think they look great, but I kept taking it off because I was uncomfortable or fidgeting with it. I’m going to take the watch that broke, it was the strap, to a jeweler and see if it can be replaced. It’s a cloth band I’d call it, light as a feather. I’d forget I had it on.

Well this is the end result really: given that I came home pretty much even and had budgeted coming home with much less, I have opted to purchase the set of 5 ply stainless steel all clad brand cookware. It's basically found money so I can spring for the top of the line shit.

Taking tomorrow and Friday off. Going to stay with a buddy in Fargo and watch and bet on all the games as they happen. Pretty excited for the time off, tbh.

I'm also off tomorrow and friday. I'll be doing nothing but watching bb, although I admit that if I was betting live on every game with a buddy that would make it much better.

Against my personal feelings I actually have a small bet on Kansas to win at 18-1 (as well as Ten at 45-1).

So, that is how Iím making due.

Yes that’s very nice but I’m not dropping 6 large on a watch. Not with what they pay me.

My brother, the one that never posted here, described Rolex as a “good, basic starting point” for watches (“timepieces”). Obviously I am not playing in the same tax bracket as he is.

The big boss man at work wears a gold Rolex every day and I always end up staring at it whenever I have a meeting with him. Last meeting he was telling me how he already maxed his 401k for the year ((we only had 4 paychecks and I guess his bonus by then) and how heís maxed it every year since he started work) and then admonished me when I said I havenít done the same and I should sacrifice more to do so.

Yeah I donít agree with that at all. Someday you might want to start your own practice and it does you no good to have a good chunk of all your excess earnings locked up.

At least, thatís why I contribute the absolute minimum to get the match (even do pretax rather than Roth). I am for sure going to want to do outside investment stuff, be that starting my own consultancy firm or private placements, or whatever.

I canít see myself having one of those absurd yellow gold Rolex watches. Theyíre like $40k and the biggest ďrob meĒ sign ever.

maybe i don't understand math or gambling, but that is insanely stupid.

at this point i don't really get into filling out a bracket any more or worry about what happens beyond KU winning. which is sad because years ago i would watch every game and live and die with my picks.

To be fair, both of your scenarios are equally sad.
I'd lend a hand, but it's stuck in the fist and gun position.
