  1. 15-day trial of Counterspy might clear that up:http://www.download.com/3000-8022_4-10705277.html
  2. 90 hours a week? That can't be healthy.
  3. Does anyone know where I can find a torrent of Cardrunner videos? I've seen references, but haven't found a link. Private only?

    Aeneid Help

Read it (in Latin), CRADT.http://www.gutenberg.org/wiki/Main_Page will have a copy if you feel like reading.
  5. Turns out this is still an interesting problem even if the sum diverges:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Petersburg_paradox
  6. I raise this turn, and probably fold if re-raised. Anyone else?
  7. Your setup looks exactly right. Jethro's not wrong about the first six rolls, he just neglected the subsequent rolls (which is the meat of the problem) and guesstimated.Edited to remove foolishness.
  8. Ok, I feel like it should be something like this: Liability = SUM[((5/6)^n*n)(n-10)] as n goes from 0 to infinity5/6 is the probability of NOT 7 on any roll, n-10 is what the house pays out, 5/6^n is the probability of of NOT 7 on this particular roll, etc.Seems close, anyway.EDIT: We want profit, so I guess it should be 10-nRe-edit: On review, there is probably arithmetic wrongness here. But I think the idea is correct.
  9. I'm just spitballing here...if 7 should roll one time in 6, then on average it should hit on the third or fourth roll, earning the casino a profit of six or seven dollars. And...it's equally likely to show up earlier and later than that to a point, that point being the first and sixth roll, so those results would also average out to a $6.5 profit. But it could also roll later, and the casino's liability there has to be accounted for. Insert stats here; I don't remember any. This is probably completely wrong; I disclaim all.
  10. So, bottom line, if you pick up AA against a not-so-good LAG you're going all the way with it (barring 4-flush/4-st8 boards)? It seems like the hand-range analysis (while useful for me, because I'm bad at that) doesn't have a lot of relevance for this hand. How deep would your stack have to be to play differently?
  11. I understand the rationale for the CRAI if you think you're pot-committed. But if you're committed now, you were just as committed after your c-bet. What would you have done if he'd raised the flop? What sequence of actions would have made you lay this down?
  12. Against a more sensible opponent I'd say bet the turn, making villain worry about AK. If he stays with you, you can shut down. But this is an aggrotard, and one prone to re-raising at that. Going to the mat with one pair is how we stack off against aggrotards. C/F, wait for a better spot.**I play $50max, YMMV
  13. What Vike said. Your undergrad can be the best social and academic opportunity of your life. Unless your game is actually paying for your education, you're better off keeping it to a minimum--it's just too much of a time commitment to play seriously.
  14. I like it if you're the button; otherwise not so much. I often get into trouble overplaying in these spots, though.
