  1. First off all, what is a nit?The table broke shortly after this hand and says he had 99. I dont buy it, i tihnk either 88 or 10-8suited
  2. 1/2 NL @ House of Blues in ACHero has a tight table image. Has shown down very few hands and 2 hands being KK and AA and a set. Tight aggressive. Stack $325ishVillain: massive chip stack: 800$+ but playing big stack very poorly. Gained chips by betting when he has something and folding when not. Not very tricky and not calling raises or re-raising unless he had somthing. 1st pos. 3. I posted this in the General Strategy forum, but was recommended it i post it here. Sorry for all you who have read it 2xs. What is the correct style of play for a limit game that is super-loose (like all 2/4 and some 3/6 tables). Everyone knows that if there are limpers and you raise, all the limpers are calling. Does this give more value to connectors & suited cards? If it does, with limpers, are these mediocre suited/connector cards now raising hands? Any thoughts?
  4. Is the hand folded to the CO, or is there Limpers before him?If it is folded to the CO, his range of hands raising extends tremendously. He could be raising with A5, J10, Q10, 109-- anything to put the pressure on you to make a play. You have position on him and the rest of the table. By re-raising not only do you show him the strength of your hand, you most likely get the blinds out of the hand. You also may get him to check to flop, in which case you can decide how you want to proceed: check behind and take a free card, or stay aggressive and bet. Unless he 4-bets PF (which he would most li

  6. Is it likely that they could have A9 or A10 on the turn, rather than flush. Then when the river comes another 10, so A10 becomes more unlikely and his A9 is counterfitted.
  7. If you know the person is playing super-aggresive then you have to take a stand for your hand when you know you have the best hand, and most likely with TT or JJ, PF, you have the best hand. I dont fault you for calling OOP with AK, especially against a whacko, because you can c/r the flop if you hit because he is being so aggressive. I also dislike re-raising with TT and JJ sometimes bc online low limit NL, a re-raise is more or less, making the other person go all in. very rarely will someone fold to a re-raise. It is a tricky situation for a re-raise, bc your probably looking at a race with
  8. If he raises in LP or button i would think that a re-raise would be OK because he could just be trying to isolate himself verse only one player. However, by re-raising froma blind, he is showing alot of strength by raising way out of position. While he could have a bad hand, the odds that he has a very strong hand are much more likely. A hand like JJ or QQ would just call out of the blinds most of the time, hoping to dodge over cards. I think your best bet is to calling the BB re-raise and hoping to dodge the Ace. If any other face cards come out, you can play the situation and try to figure
  9. I play 3/6 and 5/10 Limit now and want to go over to NL in live games. I have been playing the .5/1 game online and trying out the 1/2 NL online and doing fairly good. The MAX you can sit down with at a casino is $300, atleast most of the places ive seen. I dont want to sit down with the max for fear of getting nervous and mkaing a bad play and losing it all on one hand (dont try to say you werent nervous the first time u sat down at a live NL cash game for the same reason). What do u recommend is enough to sit down with for the first time you play live NL, $175?
  10. I've played 3/6 on BoDog and it was easy. Lots of people coming from the SportsBook trying out poker. I also like it because multi-tabling can be broken down into 3 screens, unliek full tilt where u would need to shrink your screen resolution or have two monitors to multitable with more than 2 tables.I play on full tilt now though. Played on BoDog for about a month though and did well, but they didnt have too many tables either, but may be worth checkin out because its easy.
  11. I was playing a 3/6 game at Caesars in AC this past Friday. I encountered a player who would call every hand preflop no matter what raise or what position. It was like he was playing 12-20$ hands of poker, instead of playing what i would consider, 'normal' poker. Instead of playing blackjack, he was playing poker, call everything preflop, and then see to the river. He would never raise even if he had a big hand, just call everything. The table consenus originally thought by making raises 9 & $12 it could get him out, but it did not work. He even said to the table, "you guys should have fig
  12. Blinds are 200-400. 3 people left. Hero has 3700 in chips with A :icon_suit_club: A :icon_suit_spade: Villain has 3500 in chips.SB folds. Villain (BB) checks. Hero (button) raises 1500Flop A :icon_suit_heart: K :icon_suit_diamond: 5 :icon_suit_club: Villain raises 1500. Hero pushes all in. Turn : 7 :icon_suit_heart: River: 2 :icon_suit_heart: I know that it is only the PF and Flop, but comments on if this was played correctly. Should i have just called the flop bet since there were no flush/straight draws on the board? Villain only had 1000 in chips after flop raise, so he was most likely
  13. If two people have checked before you, you might as well check and try to get a free card. You have nothing at the current time, so you might as well check and try to see the turn. If CO bets, and the two players in front of you call, you could consider calling in hopes of landing your Q. if the other two players fold, then you might as well fold too, bc the pot cannot be big enough to make it a worth it.if unimproved on the turn, u might as well give up on the hand. you basically are drawing to a Q(non-club). to put any money into this pot is a waste.
  14. 3/6 FTPI'm going to try to tell this from memory.Positions 1-3 fold. Hero in 4th positon with 88 calls. Folds around to CO. Villain in CO raises.SB folds. BB folds. Hero calls. Heads up me and villain. Flop comes Qc-8c-4h.Hero check. Villain bets. Hero raises.Turn: AsHero check. Villain bets. Hero raises. Villain folds. I think i played this horribly. I would like views on how to play Sets with flush draw on the board. Or, how to play a set heads up. Would I lead out on the flop, not c/r.Should I have re-raised PF?
