Push. The amount of times your opponent beats you here is not as many times that you beat him

Without knowing if there are any viable flush/straight draws on board (or made straights/flushes)...or if the board is paired...What does he have that calls a 5x BB pf raise AND calls a flop check/raise AND leads the turn, that you beat?AT, JJ...do you think he could have KT? How about 99?What does he have that beats you?AA, KK, TT, or a lower set...is two pair possible here? And is a 5x BB raise standard at this table, or an overbet? And what's his past play like...trappy...loose...have you seen him play big pairs yet?

Also position. You say you check/raise the flop and he calls. On the turn, you say "he bets pot"... did you check the turn? I would lead out on the turn. Checking the turn doesn't make much sense to me unless you have given up on the hand.

Calling my preflop raise, I put him on any mid to high pair, or any face card hand (single or double). Hands that beat me are AA, KK, 1010, 88, don't think I would see a call with 33, two pair (questionable due to a decent preflop raise and this flop).Post flop I was hoping he had Ax(suited hearts). From what I had seen at this table so far, 5xBB is a strong preflop bet.

With the two hearts on board why are you checking both the flop and the turn? And don't rule out 33...if both of you have $10, a 50 cent call is more than correct with any pocket pair. But with you showing so much weakness he could be playing a pair with a flush draw...In late position, a lot of people will call a pf raise with suited connectors (eg. 7h8h) for only 5% of their stack.

Yes, I was going for another check-raise, and he played into my strat. Although, I wasn't expecting that much of a bet from him.

By checking, I was hoping to get him betting into a hand I thought I was ahead in, then moving in with a raise to his bet.Nice post, some really good points I've never considered.I'm still learning this game, thanks for the input.
