Yea, calling one of the most well respected NBA hall of famers and analysts stupid, that was impeccable.

Lebron's gotten better every single year - jesus give him a break
What's that got to do with anything?

If you can honestly say that you'd rather start a team with any other player alive for the next five years ... well you can't because it's him by a complete and utter landslide - no one else comes close
I'll take Chris Paul, because a PG is more important to winning a game than a 3 will ever be. I'd also take Kobe or D-wade over the next 5 years, your argument would be more compelling over the next 10 years though.

No one loves Charles Barkley more than me - he's probably my favorite athlete of all time - and he was probably right about what he said about Lebron - nevertheless - he's said an insanely large amount of really stupid thingsDid anyone in the history of the game Bellyache publically more than Charles did in Philly"most well respected analysts" - this is insane Charles is there because he's entertaining as hell - he does zero prep - Here's my impression of deep analysis from CharlesErnie Johnson: Kenny what do the knicks need to do to get back in this gameKenny: Well, they really need to start spreading the floor and attacking the weakside of Denver's defense - they also need to --- 5 minutes of x and o talkErnie: Charles what do you think?Charles: I could care less the Knicks are TerribleYou're insane to want Dwayne Wade over Lebron - 1. he's not as good2. he's already beat to helland spare me the he has a ring crap - As for what Lebron says behind closed doors - it's irrelevant - Magic Johnson got his coach fired - are you saying he wasn't a good teammateFind one public statement from Lebron about how bad his teammates are - there aren't any - and remember he used to play with Ricky DavisI don't think he's ever even criticized Carlos Boozer for lying to a blind guyGo back to Lebron at 18 - can you seriously say he hasn't done pretty much as well as humanly possible given the hype - being saddled with not a single other player that could create his own shot and being stuck in perhaps the least innovative and fluid coached offense in NBA history?

I'm not sure what all that stuff you spewed in your last post was...Charles is the man, end of story. I don't even need to explain why, but even in your impression that's an example of him keeping it real and why people enjoy the TNT pre and post game shows more than any other.Wade is beat up... maybe the teams he has been killing this year are beat up. Who is leading the league in scoring? Who has a finals MVP?Way to ignore Paul, Kobe and everything else I said. Jordan no jumper... yea he just won a national title on one. In the words of a fictional, angry, black, gay militant comic book artist...

oh i love charles tooPaul is fine but i'd take Lebron - name me the last pure point guard to be the best player on a championship team - it was Isaiah a million years agoBulls - 6 titles no real point - Lakers 3 titles no real point - I can't even remember who the Heat's point was - was it White Chocolate? the only other teams that even had an above average one - were Tony Parker's Spurs teamsWade is leading the league in scoring because the Cavs have blown so many teams out that Lebron has sat out a lot of fourth quartersKobe is over 30 - you can argue that he's still better than Lebron now but No way Kobe from 31-36 is gonna be comparable to Lebron from 24-29Not even Jerry Buss would make that argumentAs for Michael hitting that game winner - please - to argue that he wasn't an infinitely better outside shooter at 30 than he was at 23 is laughable

Over the next 5 years I'd take Kobe, Wade and Paul ahead of Lebron. Over ten years Lebron moves up my list to #2 behind Paul though depending on how Rose does over the next 2 years I reserve the right to change my mind. The league hasn't had many really dominate point guards while the Bulls and Lakers were racking up title wins, now there are a ton of them and if you don't have someone to compete with the Pauls, Williams, Parkers, Roses, of the world you can and will get beat regularly because they can control the entire flow of the game. Jordan was a far better shooter coming into the league than Lebron was or is at the same age. Not to mention Jordan played at a time were defenders were allowed to be much more physical on the perimeter.

How many titles does John Stockton have? How many titles does Steve Nash have? How many titles does Jason Kidd have?Derrick Rose over Lebron - you're now officially on crackby the way Lebron again sat out the entire fourth quarter tonight which is like the third or fourth time in the last six gameswhich is pretty significant seeing that he led the league in fourth quarter scoring last year

John Stockton would probably have 2 if it wasn't for MJ.Jason Kidd has some pretty weak parts of his game, and Nash doesn't play defense they way any of the PG's I listed do. I said I reserve the right to make judgment on Rose over the next two years, today I'd take Lebron over him but Rose could turn out to be a very special player.Hate to break it to you but a good 3 is probably the least valuable piece to a championship team... well except if you count how Paul Piece completely outplayed Lebron in every facet in a game 7 last year. I'm sure you have an excuse for that though.

Uh last time I checked Lebron outscored Pierce 45-41Boston was at home and there is no doubt that if the Cavs had home court they would have beaten the celticsThe Celtics next best player to Pierce was a guy named Kevin Garnett - the Cavs was a guy named Delonte West who the Celtics basically cutLebron also out rebounded Pierce and had more assistsagain Lebron's support - NO ONE - Pierces KEVIN F-ING GARNETT!and the series came down to home court

Series came down to who had the will to win game 7.If it was played on a neutral court the Celtics would have won.

please because playing at home at the Garden is no advantage whatsoeverif the caltics had played the Hawks pn a neutral court they didn't get out of the first roundLebron really sucks - he only scored 45 in a game 7 on the road against a stacked team with absolutely zero help from his teammatesthe celtics then went on to totally shut down Kobe Bryant in the finals!

Who are the caltics? Is that an Ivy League math team or something? I thought we were talking about basketball...No one said Lebron sucks, but he got outplayed by Pierce in that game. Lebron had a lot of stats, Pierce made every play that mattered and got a win. Who did Lebron guard that game? The Celtics hit a slump in the early part of the playoffs mostly due to Ray Allen hitting about the worst shooting slump of his career, that's the only reason the Hawks stayed with them as long as they did. I can't wait to come back to this thread in 2010 and see if the Cavs fans are still going to be standing up for Lebron when he puts on that Knicks jersey at a press conference. If he didn't play for Cleveland I bet you never would have posted in this thread at all.

Taking anyone over LeBron to start a franchise is insane. Even I would take him over Kobe. And you know how much I love Kobe.

For a 5 year period, I don't think so. For a 10 year period because he is so young he jumps up over some other people but how can you not make an argument for Chris Paul, some people even might for Dwight Howard.

As for me being just a homer - to tell you the truth watching him play in that horrible offense for the past years I've almost wished he were on another teamwanting a little point guard over a guy who is 6'8" has amazing court vision can handle the ball pass the ball finish like no other and is built like a tank is insaneyou're like Rush Limbaugh talking about Obama

Chris Paul doesn't play little, and you blowing him off as that shows your complete homerism like no other. See I can't be a homer, because I don't live in a town with a team. We have a D-league team that is affiliated with the Bulls and Suns, but you couldn't pay me to go watch those games.I don't listen to Rush Limbaugh, so I have no clue what you are talking about.

this is an excellent point. I think if you're starting a team from scratch, I think there's no other choice from Lebron. This season, much less over the next five years. I suppose you could construct a team I'd rather have Paul than Lebron, but that team would be exception rather than the rule.

I'm starting my team with Trevor Ariza. The greatest defensive player of all-time.
