So far only NL/L Holdem, Omaha Hi, 2-7, maybe Stud later.
  1. It's 44 to win 63, so you have to be about 75% 'sure' vs his range to break even. I think this is where online and live play is v.different. Versus an online player it's probably a call but based on the 'shaking hands' I think it's a 50-50 because if he had AK, QQ, JJ he would have much more hesitant body language and bet sizing, which I don't think was the case at all.The final thing is, if he's a rookie there's a decent chance he'll show his hand if you fold, so you may not need to pay for the information associated with the body language..PZ
  2. I listened to the audio of the original and I think I would have been pissed if it were me. I guess Joe Rogan's humor is not for everyone. If it were me, I would have taken it as a bit crude and obnoxious with the initial compliments sounding insincere and antagonistic. I dunno that's how I would have taken it if it were me. Who knows, I guess maybe it is funny interpreted in the right light?
  3. I'm really interested to know Daniel's "system"? I'm a cash-game person myself but my impression he means in a tourny you're not out to just get all your money in good whenever you have equity (as in cash game), you're out to maximize the growth rate of your stack. i.e. you want to see flops because if you do lose a pot you don't want to lose so much such that it hampers your ability (as a skilled player) to continue to accumulate chips at a fast rate by outplaying people on the flop. I can only guess it's about getting that sweet spot balancing skill / equity / and risk that will increase y
  4. agreed. 1/3 * 2 (win draw) - 2/3* 1 (lose draw) = 0 i.e. breakeven.Getting 2-1 pot odds (i.e calling a pot sized bet) on a 2-1 shot draw (i.e. 1/3 probablility winning) is breakeven.Getting 3-1 pot odds (calling half pot bet) on a 2-1 shot draw is +EVi.e. 1/3 * 3 - 2/3 * 1 = 1/3I'm assuming you get to see the river with these calls.
  5. WorldPx is not bad. It is very prima like. It has a few things that could be improved in the interface but otherwise not much problem. I can see they scoped out their competitors when making their software. My only complaint is the traffic. It's little low for my limit e.g. 2/4, 3/6 and 5/10 NLH. I think the business model is not bad, since even I being a non-sports bettor have considered making some bets. The RB is excellent (ofcourse) and paid weekly. You could probably earn 2k in RB a week 3 tabling 2/4 NLH 5-8 hours a day i.e. 300 hands / hr, if you can get enough traffic. Limit traffic
  6. I tell you why I voted 78 (likely suited):- First off from UTG, a raise with 75s/o is pretty nutty. I mean DN can play goofy and he 'projects' a wide hand range, but 75 UTG raise would be expensive way to advertise right?!? You have to flop pretty darn well to play 75 from UTG, or you have to have alot of good PF reads and your table image has to be significantly more intimidating (to bluff) than if you had 78s. DN still wouldn't deviate too far, too often from fundamentals no? While it is possible, it's less likely. - Other stuff about preflop The BB preflop reraise really narrows BB h
  7. Well everyone has their preferences. I dig smart hot girls - nevermind that they are Asian or not (though I am Asian myself).
  8. Thought I'd start some rampant speculation. She sounds hot. DN writes she was a runway model, and ivy smart too. yum, wonder if she is taken or not?
  9. Poor Nick - that 300K gotta hurt! Don't think he had 100% of himself at WPT. and after taxes that 300K would hurt!
