  1. Ditto on the recommendation, Cesar can help you with Mushu's behavior in ways so simple it's not even funny.
  2. Daniel,I've noticed from watching your video blogs and from what you say online that Mushu is territorial and a bit cranky around outsiders. A lot of this behavior comes from his perception of his relationship with you. Dogs have only 1 pack leader...and from the way he's treated Mushu likely thinks that he is that leader. If he sleeps where he wants and does what he wants whenever he wants that's the only conclusion his little doggie mind is going to come up with (he has no concept of human, he thinks of you as another dog). As pack leader he feels he has to bark and defend his territory, sin
  3. I understood the point of the story...the skill level has gotten so bad it's become a crapshoot. Bad players are sucking out and there's no room for skilled play. I said so in my post.I love High Stakes Poker, watch it every week. I think you'd agree with me though that very few people outside of pros like Daniel and company can play those types of hands (64s) post flop with any kind of success. They are experts at reading and knowing where they are in a hand. The rest of us aren't :-)I give the Sports Guy credit, he obviously knew where he was in the hand, and got his money in with the best o
  4. Daniel,Thanks for the response! Hope San Diego is treating you well...my folks live there and they love it! Great place for golf, I know you'll love it.I love the Sports Guy's column and I was rooting for him to do well. But then he published what was essentially a bad beat story. As if we all hadn't heard a million of those before :-) I agreed in my post that his read was right and he got his money in with the best hand. The other guy was terrible calling with just top pair. I just thought that given how early it was he could have found a better spot for it.It did bother me that he put it al
  5. Not sure if this is the right forum for this but here goes.I'm an avid reader of the Sports Guy, and I know Daniel is too (he has stated that his writing is influenced by the Sports Guys style). Here's the Sports Guy's recap of his 2 hour experience at the Main Event:Sports Guy's WSOP DisappointmentI love reading this guys work, he's good for several laugh out loud moments on a weekly basis, and he's spot on when it comes to presenting a fan's view of professional sports. However, after reading this article, I find myself shaking my head. Now he was obviously very disappointed...and he makes the
  6. I'm in too...playing Friday. It's a brutal structure...over 500 entries, only 18 pay out. VERY top heavy payouts...1st gets 40% of the prize pool, so a little over $200k, plus an entry to the 5 Diamond WPT event and a freeroll for next years roundup. Good luck to all, hope to see some FCPers there.
  7. Yeah that cracked me up too...he has that Grandfather of Poker image, so hearing him make an offcolor comment has an even stronger effect. How many episodes are left this season?
  8. Thanks! I forgot to mention how much I enjoy Gabe Kaplan's commentary...good stuff as well. His sidekick...only so-so.
  9. Loving this show, both seasons. Daniel summed it up the best as Mike was leaving (paraphrasing). "He plays good, good, good, then WHAM. He loses focus and that's it".It was pretty cold hearted of the players to pay Mike to stay, knowing he was tired and would give it all back, but it's also very smart. It's Mike's job to exercise good judgement, their job to exploit the lack thereof.Daniel's been great in these shows. He took some brutal beats last season, but still battled back to about even (after being stuck $740k). This season he's up over $140k after the first day if I'm not mistaken. Not
  10. Yeah, that was great, close to being there, and great insight on the ongoing play. I'm in.
  11. She won the Tournament of Champions year before last if I remember correctly...beating Phil Hellmuth.
  12. Ditto...I've taken down a few $5 tourneys will 600 ppl of so, but mostly I wind up cashing out in the last 3 tables. Getting over the hump of 'all in or fold' strategy at that point has proven to be tough.Farthest I've gone in one of the $200 Sunday tourneys (UB) was 16th, and I got lucky and sucked out on a few confrontations.
  13. I've been second guessing my style of play...I'm a bit too conservative. On the other hand, I've cashed in for about $1700 in the last two weeks (a 16th for $955 in the UB 200 sunday), and a 1st ($733) in a $5 buy in with over 600. So I know I'm doing SOMETHING right.I seem to find myself more often than not betting hard to protect pots and driving everyone out. I win a lot of small/medium pots with my pre/postflop play, but the big ones always wind up being an 'all in' preflop situation.I'd like to put more skill in my game and less luck so I can go deeper more often. I'd rather bust out on th
