daniel missing from the five-diamond classic

Three reasons:A) I'm busy with other things.B) I like to keep myself fresh for the major events. C) I was very upset about the decision to go with all no limit hold'em events. I don't think it's in the best interest of poker at all. The only events I will be play will be the PPT and WPT Championship.

I 2nd that.. it seems like the whole poker world (casinos, WPT, WSOP) have been so preoccupied with NLHE, that the other forms of the game are being ignored and only available in cash form and only at the high limits. I love the other forms (O8, Triple Draw, Razz) but to find a tourney of these forms is impossible.Daniel, do most of the pros in your circle share your same views or are they just happy there are more fish in the sea?

Every player in my circle agrees with me. This decision didn't benefit poker, but it obviously benefits their bottom line. Harrah's has done virtually the same thing by adding 100 NL events and taking out BOTH mixed game events. It's appalling.

I can't agree more Daniel. When CP ran the tourny schedule before the deicsion was made to an all NL format I thought that the Bellagio series was amazing. They ahd a real good diverse tourny setup and it just looked awesome. I think they would've had a much more successful tourny if they kept it this way as they have only been drawing like 225 for the events when they were probably expecting more like 400 for the nlhe events

Daniel,Are you doing anything to work towards a governing body that can work for the best interst of poker in general like the USGA and PGA do in golf? I'm sure you've read Roy Cooke's stuff in CardPlayer, what do you think about his ideas?

Not that surprising...anytime I set up a NL Hold'em Tournament I have 50 guys responding. Any time I try to set up a ring game or anything other than hold'em it's a fight to find 6 guys. I hope poker eventually has majors like golf, tennis, etc. (besides WSOP) which features other games on TV. I mean...who wants to play hold'em ALL the time? I had crazy fun last week playing Crazy Pineapple!

You know, a Poker Olympics at the Wynn sounds like a fun idea.

I think the main event at the WSOP should be a mixed game structure. That way to win it would take a lot more skill at multiple games. Now it still takes skill, but you only have to be good at the one game (NL Holdem). Anyway, that's just my opinion.Shock

I wonder Daniel are you going to be playing any of the Plaza World Poker Classic? The schedule posted on Cardplayer shows a good variety tournaments including two stud tournaments, two Omaha 8/Ob tournaments, an a-5 lowball tournament, and a HORSE tournament. It seems Harrahs should have a World Series schedule that looks more like the Plaza's.
