There were two on the bank when we pulled up, one was small, so we worried that it was a mama and baby, which is really the only dangerous situation with alligators. Actually, it's when they are nesting. Otherwise, they are scared of us more than we are of them. That is a private country club and community called Alaqua, and the houses in there are so effing big and opulent. I'm sure Louiseville has some majestic shit, you just gotta find it. I don't know if I mentioned it, he called the next day and said, "I'm sorry, I didn't realize that it was your birthday... I appreciate that you got it done, and I liked your work." I didn't come to work bitching about it, didn't mention it to anyone, just let it go. I told him that it didn't matter, it just needed to get done and I did it. realistically, I woulda gone home and read random bullshit on wikipedia, or watched terrible TV (jesus **** AMC's turn is awful, I need new shows), or read something dumb. he's the right hand of the guy who owns and runs the company; I picked up Winner points. I hear some ****ing crazy stories about the effort it takes to get good, high end bourbon due to the mentality of the distilleries, trying to keep prices low. if they let capitalism work its magic, certain kinds would go for $500+/bottle. I guess there is some sort of antique collection that comes out each year from all the big brands, and a full set goes for like $2k+. one of my friends was telling me, he found one of the bottles at this smaller liquor store, he was friendly with the owner and had to beg... the guy goes into the back and brings it up front in a brown bag, sells it to him for $90. brainless situation. I guarantee the market is awash in high end bourbon, 5-15 years from now, but for now... supply > demand 1 Link to post Share on other sites

Everyone at work was asking me if I was going to get crazy since it was a Friday. I'm like, nope. Not going to do anything out of the ordinary. I had actually made plans earlier in the week to go to the casino with the old bosses daughter/son in law and another friend that I used to work with because it was the first free Friday they all had open and we've been trying to get together for awhile. Well, they figured out it was my birthday earlier yesterday and so what was just going to be us four turned into us four, her brother (who I used to work with as well), his girlfriend, and the old boss man and his wife taking us all out to dinner and then us all going to the casino. When we got to the casino boss man gave everyone in his brood $100 to gamble with and I was like wow. that this is what rich families who like each other do I guess. Didn't go well for them. Thankfully I've never had the nightmare in that post happen. I've had people not show up and I had to run the store for a few hours but nothing like that. I did have a 21 year old woman as a store manager. We had just had a managers meeting and an hour later I get a panicked call from her cousin who was also a manager for me. Seems the 21 yo had been in a horrible accident. It was January in Spokane, WA so the roads were a little icy. She was having a text fight with her recent ex, missed a turn and crossed through the other side of the road, hit a snow berm and launched her car 15 - 20 feet into the air. A huge pine tree scraped down the drivers side of the car mid flight (you could see the marks on the tree at least 15 ft up) I don't know if she wasn't wearing her seat belt or what but some how her head ended up outside the drivers side window and the tree crushed her left eye, took off her left ear and otherwise damn near crushed her skull. Somehow she managed to survive many surgeries to reduce swelling on the brain, repair broken bones etc.... but she was in a coma for 5 months and has been a vegetable ever since. A DM friend of mine had an employee that had only been with the company for 3 weeks hang himself in the bathroom of the the store. The store manager (a woman) heard a banging noise, went back to check on him and found him hanging from the ceiling with his belt around his neck. Store manager didn't take a day off work.
