We had our company golf tourney at Caledon Golf and Country Club (or something like that). First time golfed in a couple years. Hit the ball pretty well. Would love to get out and golf more, but it's so expensive and most courses are ex-urban.

That is a really good deal. I may have to look into it.

Last couple of weeks, played Bethesda Grange, Lake Joseph, Sleepy Hollow and Cherry Downs. Going to book Lakeridge Links for Friday (praying no rain)

There is a really good deal on Underpar right now for Angus Glen:

Going to get 2 Angus Glen passes.

Also the optics of me bringing a set of clubs to work and then bailing at 2 probably aren't good for me right now, having worked like 5 days in the last 3 weeks. Lol.

I would love to go some time this summer, though. With some notice, I'd just take a vacation day, or at least notify my bosses of that.

When I was a kid, my Dad played in a Ford dealers' tourney at Glen Abbey and brought me back the course booklet thingy that had a page for each hole. I must have read through that thing 1000 times envisioning how I would play them all.

Also, Marcel Dionne played a hole with each group, or something, and somehow left his 4-iron in my Dad's golf bag.

Too funny. I always tell Otto when he goes out with guys to keep his nose clean and don't do stuff like this

On a side note the pizza pizza is very close to the former Jillys. A bunch of guys took me there on June 7, 1991 and I got drunk after 2 drinks. On June 8, 1991 I was married

It didn't happen here but just wondering how many times it does happen and the driver is charged:

Pretty much never. Also note the cyclist endangered himself almost exclusively.

I wonder how often a cyclist, pedestrian or other driver is seriously injured or killed by a driver and the driver receives no punishment or something ridiculous like a fine or 7-day suspension. Pretty much every day.

I disagree. Driver is always at fault

I played golf at Caledon Golf and Country Club on Sunday. I found the course to be very nice and scenic. Never played there before and shot 43 on the front 9.

Best hole was #5, hit a 9 iron and nearly hole it. A tap in for my only birdie:

Next best hole was #9. Standing in the tee box the single who join with us said are we going to wait and go for the green. I said hell yeah we go for it. Hit my drive to the left side of the green and 3 putted for par:

Was waiting for the next hole that I read about. Hole #14. 592 yard par 5 off the top of the hill. I went first and probably my best drive all day. Hit it over the huge trees and the single said to me "hit another ball, I have never seen anyone hit over the trees and clear it". So I did and blew past 250 yards and lost the ball. We drove down the cart path and saw my ball. It was right down the middle of the fairway. Eventually scored a 6 from a bad chip shot.

However I was wondering more about this:

He had to be joy riding fast down the hill to make the cart flip over.

Playing redtail next week. Pretty pumped about it too...

I have heard about this course but I know I will never play it.

I took Otto out to Angus Glen a couple of weeks ago. While driving up to play I remind him that the pros actually putted on the same greens he will be putting on. He thought that was pretty cool.

This the thread where we used to discuss Shapovalov? What a fun match to watch last night, caught most of it, great to see.

I was supposed to meet some friends for a drink, tried to watch as much as I could before I left, and I saw the end of the match at a jack asstors bar with the guys. When he won, I realized in the bar/restaurant of 40 people, I was the only one watching. It was kind of sad! I even had to tell my friends what happened (these are guys I play basketball with), and they gave it about 30 seconds of care, and then back to other topics.

how come most people don't care? do we no longer care about tennis, or is it just no big deal, or did they not realize it was a Canadian playing against Nadal?

Tennis is still a bit of a fringe sport for the masses and they haven't heard of him before so it's not that surprising. There is a mini boom at the moment in tennis participation and Tennis Canada is doing a great job at developing elite players.

As good as Denis is Félix Auger-Aliassime who is a year younger and nursing an injury at the moment is considered the better prospect to break through to the top of the tennis World. They are great friends and it can only help that they will be pushing each other.

I recall him winning the US Open juniors, didnt know he was that highly regarded, thats pretty cool.

incredibly freaky to me that this Felix kid was born 43 days after my son was. Even watchign Shapo last night, I was impressed with his poise in interviews, the kid is playing against Nadal, in Canada, with Gretzky watching! (though, I dont he can appreciate what Gretzky means to most Canadians)
