The Cast of Characters over The Last 1,001 Hands [Ed. note - it's really just 1,000 hands]Starring, in addition to our Hero, a poster of this Website...Pocket Kings, which hath battled with Pocket Aces prior to the flop the number of two, and which, despite courageous quarrel, perished soundly upon both occasions.Pocket Aces, for he hath been summoned four times these past few days and hath faced defeat upon all occasions, most infamously to the curiously titled Computer Hand, Queen Seven of Clubs, which did on this Holy Day turn Two-Pairs. The Almighty Overpair, He that appeareth strong but which perished to a Set or Two-Pairs times five, indeed fighting fiercely but failing to strike the Death Blow once. Sadly, the Company of Full Tilt Poker rewards those short-stacked knights who call Raises with hands of the 6-8 offsuit variety. The Set, a creature ordinarily of divine strength, hath been Overset thrice. There is no more comment to be made beyond the weeping of Virgins. Our Hero, who hath yet to Overset an enemy on the Internet over Twenty Thousand Hands, suffers this unholy sting strongest. The Aggrodonk, for he and his companions hath triumphed over this Story's protagonist when drawing close to Dead times three. We see in Act Four our Hero holding Three-of-a-kind on the flop and losing to a backdoored flush. The Aggrodonk, naturally, hath overbet the Pot upon each street. We see him again, this time in Act Six, winning with T9 on a 7Q5 board when our Hero held a Set of Sevens and bet strongly throughout. Once more we see the Aggrodonk escape the Noose of Death when holding Top Pair No-Kicker - for our Hero, holding JT on a 987 board, watched with Dismay as the Gods paraded out the Jack and Ten for the Turn and River. And, of course, the Suckout, featuring flushes outdrawn by sets twice upon the turn, top pair by middle pair Times Innumerable, and pairs of all varieties by flushes and straights.May the next One Thousand and One Hands, alas, not feature such Torture, Tragedy, and Cruelty.
