Heading To Vegas Wsop

Recommended Posts

Hey guys..I am going to be in Vegas from June 16 to June 20..

While I have been to observe WSOP in the past, I havent really participated..

Looking for some tips..

I am mostly a limit player in the range of 5-10 to 15-30...I am also looking for low to mid limit Omaha Hi lo....Preferrably $8-$16...

Are these games easy to find in the side games at the RIO?

My last few visits to Vegas, its been hard to find a Omaha 8 game...Places I have seen them regularly is Venetian and the Orleans.. I just turned 40 but at the Orleans poker room , I am usually the youngest at the table by a good 25 years(no exaggeration) especially during the days.

Ill be staying at the MGM this time..How are the games in the casinos (MGM, Venetian, Bellagio, Caesars) during the WSOP? Is it even worth it to play anywhere other than RIO??

I am also looking to play a few mega satellites, with the option of buying into the $1500 O8 tourney on the Monday...If I win a mega satellite , how easy is it to sell the $500 chips?

Sorry for the newbie questions, I am not a newbie as most of you know me, but looking for some tips for the WSOP...

Also if any of you are in town during this time, look me up...

I like to play the 8-16 limit o8 game at the Venetian whenever I'm in Vegas. When I was there in January for a few weeks, it ran every day, sometimes 2 tables, and sometimes they had 15-30 o8 going. I'd assume with the WSOP going, it is a near guarantee it will run every day there.

Can't help you with the limit hold'em part, though.

If you are curious about what games are running at what time, download the Bravo Poker app to your phone. Most Vegas casinos use the Bravo program for their games and they link up with the app to show you what games, what stakes, and how many people are waiting in their poker room. Saves you from having to walk around and search.

I'll be down from the 12th to 26th...

Last year the 8/16 O8 at Venetian was running pretty consistently usually a couple tables... it was a very soft game (a little dry), but I was tempted away by the PLO games.

For Limit Bellagio is the best known option depends on what limits you want to settle into ... the games really vary in action and level of play as you move up and down.

I'm not a fan of the super satellites but a lot of people like them... In general the structures are poor.

If you're looking for other O8 tourneys keep an eye on Venetian Deepstack schedule, great events structures and turnouts.. Aria and Caesars also both have smaller series running worth checking out.
