Ronnie, a lot of projections have ISU going to Orlando for a bowl game. Can't wait to go and not meet up.

I was busy that day anyway. Your loss, really

and after 3 days, he is risen!

If you are paying $20 for a haircut, I imagine people assume you did it yourself anyway.

Pocket change cost me my first and only black girlfriend.   It was in the middle of a roaring poker boom and I was flush in ways most men don't even bother dreaming of. Money, it was like dirt to me

Last I knew they hadn't figured out how to turn off my access to salaries without removing the other access I need. I've never cared enough to look though as i feel fairly compensated and don't care to know what other people make.

I mean, I am curious, but I'm more paranoid about some siren going off in my bosses office saying that I was accessing it.

I've been in meetings more time than I haven't this past week trying to budgets with branch managers who do not give a fvvvvvck about numbers and I want to hang myself. Still about 12 or so meetings left to do next week and they haven't even been scheduled yet because Boss Man is taking his sweet ass time setting them up.

I have to tell my son to flip various things in the day-to-day goings of a 4 year old, and it remains a constant struggle not to add all of Leon's wonderful lines right after "flip it."

The grind at the math tutoring center is starting to get a little annoying again. Funnily, I just go "re-promoted". I started as "instructor", then basically got pushed within a few weeks to "lead instructor" (despite not really confirming I wanted to make that jump). Months down the road, I got demoted back down because of silliness. And then yesterday the owner sort of unofficially said I'm lead instructor. I mean, it makes sense. They have decently high turnover. Also, I realize this doesn't show much humility, but I think I'm the best employee they've got. I prefer just teaching the kids, but I am also pretty much their best option for other tasks too. That said, I really hate it when they have me make follow-up sales calls.

Anyway, the owner hired a new #2 a few weeks ago...and then the owner promptly left the country for a few weeks. The #2 was pretty relaxed and friendly at first, but since he's gotten back, he's probably stressing her with the micro-management, which in turn has caused her to micro-manage us also...and they tend to give conflicting orders. There's definitely tension, and I anticipate they'll be blowing up at each other before long.

My hopes that she was going to be more relaxed have faded as she's gotten increasingly condescending towards me. Last night we had "training", which consisted of me sitting down and teaching her a problem like she was an 8yo. It involved grouping, and as I was explaining how to approach the problem, she asked, "What's a group?" Fine...whatever...most 8yos are going to know what a group is, but I explained it anyway. So after about 2-3mins, she stops me and basically tells me the same stuff that I already knew. Also, it's kind of a crappy hypothetical, because kids can be really different, and I would tailor my teaching based on what I knew of what they know.

Later in that shift, I was teaching this ADD 6th(?) grader and a decently competent 8th grader - pivoting back and forth. We were working on the 6th grader's homework (dividing decimals) and then I was helping the 8th grader with pre-algebra. The 6th grader was requiring a ton of attention (as he often does), because it just wasn't clicking. I was giving my best efforts, but it was a slog. The #2 is basically hovering and asking what I'm doing and trying to emphasize my need to "teach and move on". That's great when the kids are getting it, but this kid constantly was asking for help, and he was going to basically shut down and not advance if I wasn't helping guide him. Towards the end she exasperatingly says to the owner that she doesn't understand what the problem is, because she taught this kid how to multiply decimals in 30mins the other day. So yay...that made me feel like garbage. The owner later told me that he didn't like how she had spoken to me disrespectfully in that situation - he encouraged me to tell her that (which is lol).

I really probably need to look for a different job.

I would like the record to reflect that I liked this post before I noticed the comment about my post.

It's less about what the answer is than what the answer feels like.

Supposedly she was decent at math as a kid, but I don't think she can really teach pre-algebra or beyond.

I thought it was funny that Nebraska opened as a 1 point dog to Northwestern. I wonder what BigD is feeling getting hit with information like that.

Fun Fact: Iowa State has more top 5 wins this month than Nebraska football has in the last 18 years.

Nebraska being a 5 point dog to Purdue was more disarming than Northwestern. This is who we are. I'll be watching the game, since it's a Northwestern Game. But I'm out on the Huskers, unless we get Frost. Which I'm terrified about, now that Florida has fired the shark fu(ker

My boss is leaving trust and moving to sales. They aren’t likely to replace her in market so now I will report to St. Louis directly, further eroding my chance to be promoted any time soon.

NOT COOL BRO.
