any large gathering of people is a potential target. My understanding is that it happened outside the arena in a hallway area outside the security area. Just think of the target the passage between Union Station and the ACC would after a hockey or basketball game.

i know way more about it than I'd like to bob. We get low level security briefs on potential threats and targets in Toronto. There's huge potential for something very bad to happen.

I'm going to put this here since a lot of the AHLers have asked me how my Mom is doing after her bladder cancer surgery 2 years ago and that has gone well with no signs of it coming back and everything is working in that part of her body.

Unfortunately she now has another challenge to face as they found a tumour in her left lung. She smoked for over 45 years so it's not surprising.

She only has cancer in the one place so they are going to cut it out along with half her lung on June 13th in Kitchener. The thing that amazes me is that they plan on sending her home the next day since the surgery is arthroscopic. They'll have her up and walking around every hour in recovery as soon as the passout gas wears off.

She's 79 and fit (she still teaches exercise classes) and has a strong support system with family and many good friends in her small town so we're hoping for the best.

If you know anybody who smokes do everything you can to help them quit and **** Cancer

thanks everybody, she is a fighter and has a great attitude so things should work out as well as they can.

These are the doctor's she has seen over the last 2 months.

Urologist for her Bladder Cancer followup

Her Family Doctor

Respirologist who is coordinating her lung cancer care

Surgical oncologist

Medical oncologist

Radiation oncologist

The last 4 all have access to the database of all the medical tests etc that she's gone through and the notes and reports from the other doctors so she'll have a test ordered by one doctor and another one is giving her the results when she sees them at times.

She lives in Palmerston and her Urologist is in Stratford and the other specialists are in Kitchener.

Best of luck bob. My dad smoked like a chimney. He stopped about 15 years ago.

He turned 85 on Sunday. Health wise he is strong as an ox but head wise he is not

Hey Bob,

Sorry I haven't been checking in here for awhile. Wishing her all the best of course, she sounds like a trooper! I've been trying to get my Mom to quit my whole life.

I asked 5 AHLers to give me a number between 1 and 100 and these are what they game me.

Zach 81

Dale 44

Tony 47

Ortenzio 68

Daniel 17

Zach then randomized the list and that is what was used to determine the top 3 draft picks.

do you own JP's pick? Im guessing so based on your reaction+Wayne post, and I recall the Tarasenko trade.

Yes, it was in the Tarasenko trade. I know it's not a spectacular draft but I'd still rather have the first pick. There's one guy I definitely prefer over the other.
