  1. Well, it depends. Can't really answer without some idea of how the hand played out.It can be easy to get away from the 2nd Nuts. For example, if you get raised big on the river when the board hasn't paired and the only hand that they could raise you with is the nut flush or possibly a maniac bluff, then you could fold imo. Generally maniac bluffs like that aren't going to happen if you have been betting a whole way, in a situation like that I think a King high flush ain't good.
  2. I always thought that raising out of position pre-flop was bad? I am a pretty bad Omaha player I admit, but I dunno if I could fold A-A-J-T double suited even under the gun, I might not raise so as not to get over committed out of position. But surely you can't be expected to fold strong holdings like that out of position?
  3. I only ever really draw 2 cards if I am in the blind and can get in cheap. If you have two deuces in your hand then you could draw, because it reduces the chance of your opponent having a strong hand, as the deuce is the best card in the deck, almost always have a deuce in a two card draw.I am just spewing out Super System here.
  4. A decision like that would depend entirely on the player for me.If he was very loose and aggressive and I decided to call with a fairly rough Ten then I would have probably already made the decision to stand pat. If he was more of a tight, conservative player, I would just muck the pat Ten pre-draw. However, if he was short-stacked then he could easily have a pat hand worse than a Ten or maybe even a good one card draw so I might call a more conservative player even then. But I am quite a tight player, so I would generally fold a pat Ten if the all-in raise was significant.
  5. After seeing both Poker After Dark dream tables, I decided to make a topic where people can choose their own six-handed dream table to play at. Obviously, your normal dream table would be a bunch of clueless fish, but in this case, what pros would you love to play against and why? I am sorry if this topic has been done before and I dunno if this is an appropriate forum for it. But hey.My dream table:1. Antonio Esfandiari - After watching HSP I have such a huge amount of respect for his cash game, he isn't just a tournament player. He is a great reader of the game and he makes some great plays,
  6. Anyone played in any dodgy, "underground" card rooms? They used to run illegal poker games in the back room of this dodgy Snooker hall in my city. I played in them a couple of times and I scraped a nice win a couple of times, but I stopped after someone was stabbed following one of the games. That kinda put me off...They were obviously going to be dodgy though if you looked at the place, it was really run down and deserted on most days, you had to go round the back of this car park and knock on the door to be let in, it was a bit like getting into Teddy KGBs place on Rounders. It was closed d
  7. I have been playing Omaha a lot recently, since it was a weakness of mine and it plays a big part in the mixed game me and my friends play. This seems like a strange question, but how aggressive should you be pre-flop? I often find that too much aggression can get you into trouble, for example, I find raising too much with Aces can get you committed to a hand and force you to bet the flop even if you don't improve, which makes you vulnerable to people who out-flop you, and Aces need to improve a lot more in Omaha. Consequently, I am fairly cautious pre-flop, I rarely raise from an early positi
  8. I salute Sgt. Hellmuth! That picture is brilliant!Yeah I know he is an egotistical buffoon sometimes! But it wouldn't be the main event without him showing up in some ridiculous fashion and being laughed at!I think he is good humoured about stuff like this, he knows people will laugh at him and I don't think he minds. I have issues with the way he conducts himself at times and his manner around the table and the way he takes beats and criticises people, but stuff like this redeems him a little! That picture is well funny!
  9. This is probably a tiresome and much asked question by new players, but how exactly do you calculate your odds and chances of making a hand? I can normally tell when to fold and when I am getting the right price in very clear cut situations, but on a draw etc I am no good at quickly making calculations. My main problem is that I have read so many different ways of doing it on various websites. One way I heard was working out your number of outs, multiply it by 2 and add 1. Is that right? I dunno. If someone could very kindly explain this it would be a massive help. I thought it would be better
  10. I want to practice and get better at Omaha, Omaha Eight or better, Stud E or B, Stud High and also improve at Hold 'em.I also want to start a proper bank roll playing Limit hold 'em, as I seem to do better at that than NLH. I want to enter some live tournaments, but that is difficult as I live in rural England, and there isn't much poker to be played except limit cash games in the back room of a shady little Snooker club near me, and I MEAN shady! Someone got stabbed after a game there, seriously. Even if I had the bankroll, I wouldn't play there.I want to play HORSE with my friends in our fri
