  1. Yeah, I've subscribed for years and their inconsistency is consistent! I can get 2 issues in the same week and then go a month without seeing one. Good luck with all that.
  2. I find that when a superior hand like AA gets cracked, looking back at everytime it holds up and makes me a lot of money does wonders for my mindset.I also wish we would have an ocassional post along the lines of:"Hey, the other day I was dealt AA UTG and raised it 6x the BB. After a flop of A K x, someone moved All in with their AK and I smoked their a$$." But I realize these types of posts are no fun and would quickly die, since the flame worthiness is so low.
  3. The level of play will be strong. Very strong. In fact they've already played it down to the final 9 as we speak.http://www.cardplayer.com/poker-tournament...df8c794ecebe192They had 289 registered players for the event. They offer the same buy-in structure 2 or 3 more times during the next few weeks, and also offer a few $1000+60 SAT to the main event. I believe the SAT for the other events are limited to one a day. They have had usually just offered one SAT per day, with the winner choosing his particular event. ie if you won the SAT to a $1K event, you could play the LHE, NLHE, O8B, or
  4. I'm not sure if their are rules about it or not, but the bottom line is, you're playing in an illegal card room. Why would you assume they give a crap about you or your hand? They're "in business" to make money, not host a fun, fair time. They're crooks, so why act surprised when one of their own acts crooked? Who should they protect, the occasional player who might provide them a few $100 in rakes or a dealer who knowns the ins and outs of their operation and can be responsible for causing them a great deal of grief should he have reason to speak to the cops?It sucks that you got stiffed
  5. Spoken like a true limit player!! I love playing any game limit. If you know what you're doing, the rewards are great.
  6. Daniel hasn't been around long enough to have anyone make that claim yet. This game is still about the long term performance. While Daniel has had an amazing couple of years, and has been succesful for all of 6-7 years, it's hard to argue he is the best of all time, even with a ME bracelet. But I don't doubt when it's all said and done, he will be up there as an all time great.

  8. Pied Piper and the little lost children. While many of you have grand illusions of your worth and skill to this community and in general, the botom line is always about the bottom line. The Cash.Personally, I think its a great move by DN. Poker is bigger than ever, and he is the face of the next generation. Look at the 1000+ worhippers here. Why wouldn't he have a place to play? The $$ potential is huge. While I admire DN's initiative and drive to make this game more accessible and more legitimate, don't be fooled. He's a professional gambler. While being a multi millionaire makes it
  9. If you post in a strategy forum and can't handle strategic analysis, stop posting your play. In response to your specific question, there are a multitude of reasons those 2 played; unfortunately, you'll never know why. Maybe they misread the board or their hand, maybe they thought you were bluffing, maybe they watch too much TV; who knows. If you want to know why they played the hands, ask them. Don't post your hand history in a strategy/hand analysis section and get pissy because people analyze your play.
  10. I wouldn't fold in this situation, but I would be cautious. Calling is all right and folding if a spade or the board pairing is ok, if it happens.
  11. It was less than 20%, and it was cited in one of the industry mags I get, I'll look it up. I'm in agreement with you dude, relax. I find it most annoying when people I know are losers tell me about how much they've won. If everyone who said they were a winning player was, no one would be losing. As for the 20%, it simply means what it says; of the millions of people who play poker OL since they started keeping inhouse stats on players, less than 20% show true winnings. I don't know if year in and year out the same people comprise that <20%.I get your take on the long run, my stats track
  12. I posted a link a while back that showed a stat of less then 20% of all registered OL poker players show a profit over the course of a year. I know quite a few people who budget $100 a month to deposit OL, and NEED to every month. They claim they are winning players because they hit a SNG or place in the $ in a tourney every now and then. While OL poker has changed the face of the game, one thing that hasn't changed is the more people who play, the more people will lose. If <20% are winners, that makes the other 80+% losers. Doesn't matter if it's 80% of 100,00 or 1,000,000.
  13. I respect your opinion and thank you for taking time to post. I have no doubt you are referring to me with the "childish" comment, but I disagree. Yes, it is not an open and shut case, and there are many things to consider with legalizing gambling. This stupid, stupid, useless law needs to be thought over, though.Baltimore has one of the highest homicide rates in the country and has for many, many years. I am one who believes in following the law, and while this law is in place, I cannot fault the police for following through and doing their job. But I am angry that because of this stupid
  14. Yeah, save that for the experts here. Lord knows, there are plenty of expert flamers here.
