  1. Any word on why the PokerRoom website is not working right now?
  2. This year we started a poker league with 20 friends. We decided to play once a month for a total of 12 events and keep track of points throughout the season. The point system we used was the one suggested here. 20 for first, 1 for last. The league is going great and everyone is having a blast, but there is one issue that keeps coming up. That issue is the point system and its effect on the league. First of all it has changed the way people play, as they are playing for points rather then to win. (I even witnessed pocket Jacks being folded pre-flop, with no raise from ahead) The other is
  3. I am pretty sure I mentioned I am not a math wiz....I can't understand this at all.....thanks for the brain dump though...
  4. I run a league that uses a point system to pay off the overall winners. We play 12 events a year and players currently accumulate points based on their finish. Ex. 20 people in the tournament, 1st gets 20, last gets 1. This seemed to work, but if you miss 1 tournament you are screwed. I have been reading about the Natural Logarithm and was wondering if someone could give me a practical example of how this works. All I am finding online is an explanation but I would like to see a number worked out and how to get there so that I can understand it. Not a math wiz here.Any help would be appr
  5. That worked. Right now I am at a 10% ROI based on that calculation. Guess I have some work to do to get up to 20%.
  6. This may sound stupid, but how would I calculate the ROI? I have tried a few different things and it is not working out to a number like 20%
  7. On that note:I think you should have almost no finishes from like 6-10At these low limit SnG's... It should be almost automatic to get into the top 5 or so. Without taking into account occasional bad beats and whatnot. But probably not to the extent you are finishing that low. Looks to me like you might be playing a bit too impatient. You could fold hands for the first 4 or 5 levels and probably get 4th.I'm one to talk, cause I have patience problems in these too, which is one reason I stopped playing them for the most part. You can't make too many moves, and just need to play straight up
  8. I play alot of tournaments online, and have been keeping stats now since Feb. A partial view of the stats is below. I was wondering if this makes me about an average player, above or below average etc. I always play $5.5o SnG NL Tournaments and that is all these stats incorporate.Thoughts??Games Played 324 1st Place Finishes 31 9.6%2nd Place Finishes 47 14.5%3rd Place Finishes 44 13.6%4th Place Finishes 40 12.3%5th Place Finishes 43 13.3%6h Place Finishes 27 8.3%7th Place Finishes 23 7.1%8th Place Finishes 32 9.9%9th Place Finishes 16 4.9%10th Place Finishes 21 6.5%Top 2 Finish 78 24.1%Top

    question....

I have been playing poker for a year now and really enjoy playing. I play ALOT, both online and live, but mostly online. Since February I have logged 300+ SnG's on PokerRoom and have played around 30 Multi-Table tournaments during that time. My question is about family and friends who are beginning to question me about my hobby. They are saying I am playing to much and that I need to find something else to do. I don't feel as though it is a problem, and it is not a $$$ thing since I haven't lost a penny playing. So I guess my question is, what should I do. Should I listen to my family a
  10. I need your help. I live in the New England area, and play in a league that I run with 20 members. We play once a month for league events, and then a lot of extra side tournaments in between league events. Our game of choice is No Limit Hold’Em and we play a freezeout tournament with 1500 in chips starting at 5/10 blinds at 15 minutes for each level. Usually the tournaments last around 3-4 hours. Points are awarded based on finish in the tournaments. First place gets 20 points, last place gets 1 point etc.The reason I am giving you this background is because I am need of some advice from
  11. I have been using Copag and really like them. I have never used the other ones listed, but I highly recommend Copag.
  12. I have to respectfully disagree with your opinions of the logos. I have been keeping a close eye on the contest and have seen all of the entries that have been posted. I feel there are some excellent entries that show the character of this forum. I believe DN and staff have a hard decision to make, but I am looking forward to buying the merchandise from this site.
  13. Where did you read this? I havent heard anything either way, but I am a big supporter of your logo and would be dissapointed if it wasn't in the top 3......Finally got my logo into the avatar parameters.....
