and after 3 days, he is risen!

If you are paying $20 for a haircut, I imagine people assume you did it yourself anyway.

Pocket change cost me my first and only black girlfriend.   It was in the middle of a roaring poker boom and I was flush in ways most men don't even bother dreaming of. Money, it was like dirt to me

Had $50 in small bills after cashing out so stopped at a blackjack table because peer pressure is super effective on me.

$10 - lost

$40 - won

$15, doubled on 11 - lost

$50 - lost

THANKS A LOT THERAFLU

it's tough. I like her a lot as a person. everyone here has been through it and can speak to it better than I can.

Do you have an issue with her being an awesome (I'm assuming) stay at home mom? There is something very great about having a clean house and supper every night. You can't take eyour money with you.

That being said, you guys aren't married, and have no kids. This is the exact moment that you should be saving like a mofo.

Talk about a Freudian mistype.

That sucks. I thouht you did that on purpose and it made me laugh pretty hard.

I get that blackjack is fun or whatever, but I just cannot get myself to enjoy something that I am guaranteed to lose at in the long run. It seems so crazy.

we just got done having a conversation about how to approach her review next week (she asked for my help last night). I get up before she does, and had sent her designations to look at, committees she could join, whatever. her response was basically, "I can't do anything to change my situation, I've already tried." to which I responded, "what does it cost you to try different stuff over the next year? it's just extra effort in the 40 hours you were already going to work, right?"

I don't want my kids to ever hear that a bad situation can't be improved. unless we are talking about trouble with the law or the mob wanting you dead, there is always a way forward in the intermediate or long-term. I'm fighting giving up on the situation because she has so many other boxes checked, and I think this is a fixable problem. truth is, you all watched me carry around the same defeatist mindset, and I worked through it. but, there's a reason why everyone says you don't try to change your partner...

I watched Southpaw on showtime. Pretty okay. I'm gonna get into bloodline season 2 tonight.

I just finished peaky blinders and if you haven't seen that start right away. I loved it.

Obligatory TR:

Landed Sunday too early to check in so we checked the bags and started the tour. Went over NYNY and MGM. Grabbed a couple slices for lunch then hit some slots before jumping in line to check in. That night we checked out the Bellagio conservatory, the fountains, and various other spots on the strip. Kinda wiped from getting up early to fly etc so we took it pretty easy that night.

Monday we got a couples massage at the spa then rocked a jacuzzi sesh. I got back to the room before here so I dropped a deuce then went over to CVS to pick up a coca cola and hit a couple machines on the way back. Then we went down to Mandalay shops for my royal shave and she did some window shopping. We went to the Peter Lik gallery and I almost dropped 6k on a piece before coming to my senses. We then went to Fleur for lunch, which was just ok but did have very good portion sizes. The jalapeno bacon BLT was a bit intense for blondie so I took some of her bacon to add to my burger, which was a good idea. That night we watched some fireworks over by the mountains from an observation deck at the tram that runs from Monte Carlo to Bellagio. Kinda lame so we walked the strip down to The Linq. Waited in line to get tickets for the High Roller but the automated machines went down and the line at the kiosk was ridiculous so we postponed that activity. Had a delicious mojito inspired cocktail outside of Caesar's and the bartender jazzed up for us. It was his first night and he was getting his ass kicked. We sympathized, told him take his time, no problem so he poured double liquor and added extra fruit and shit to our drinks. A little drinking, a little gambling, then back to the room for sexy time.

Tuesday started off with more sexy time then a quick trip down to NYNY to pick up tickets for Zumanity that night and squeeze in a little gambling while blondie was in the shower. She had a bit of an anxiety attack as when she came down to find me there were a couple UFC luminaries (she didn't know who) there causing a bit of an autograph feeding frenzy combined with her phone being an ******* and not sending messages to me so she got a bit overwhelmed and went back to the room to calm down. After that we hit an Asian fusion place for lunch. Good flavors but pretty unimpressive fare for the price. It was pretty standard chinese take out at a higher end price. Regret not getting a noodle dish instead of mongolian pork. The hot and sour soup was delish. A little gaming then back to the room about 4:30 to start getting ready etc. I had ordered a sparkling wine and chocolate covered strawberry plate to be delivered at 5, which was alright. Scored me some major points with blondie. Went to the 7:00 show at zumanity which was fantastic. Bawdy, burlesque type humor. Some literally jaw dropping acrobatic acts. Boobs. After the show went to dinner at craftsteak which, for me, is the bombdiggity. Started off with a Highland Fling for me and a glass of moscato for her. Appetizer of a shellfish platter which had: prawns, oysters on the half, clams, caviar, lobster salad, king crab, and kelp salad in sesame vinagrette. I had the 6 oz filet with half lobster for my main, she had the 10 oz hanger. For sides we had snap peas with a romesco sauce and sweet corn off the cob finish in brown butter which was the tits. Then we went and had a couple cocktails before heading back to the room to change and hit the casino a bit.

Wednesday was pretty low key. Typical sight seeing stuff with the highlight being the high roller around 9. Watching the Bellagio fountains from 500 feet is a whole different thing than watching from the ground. Met a nice couple from AZ and wondered if they were swingers. Blondie was kinda tired so she retired about midnight. I, on the other hand, popped a 5 hr energy with a shot of jaeger and hit the electronic BJ table. Made a new friend from Detroit and was betting anywhere from $1 to $40 per hand. Then a couple of lovely african american ladies joined us. We did some shots and then I pulled an irish goodbye to hit a boisterous craps table. I had a hot and and was hitting 6s and 8s like they were going out of style. Did that for a while until the cocktail disappeared and I realized it was 6:30 in the morning. Slept a few hours then caught our flight out that afternoon.

So when our friends found out we were going to Vegas together, they started in with the whole "Vegas Wedding" thing. We decided to screw with everybody. We posted a picture of us in front of a restaurant sign that said "WEDDINGS." Then we posted a picture of our hands where it looked like I was putting a ring on her finger when it was actually a ring pop (which could be seen easily if enlarging the picture). After that we posted a picture of us in front of the wedding chapel at Bellagio. Then we let every one off the hook by posting a picture of our "rings" (again, ring pops) in front of the champagne bottle we got on Tuesday. A lot of people bit hard and she is still getting some "congratulations" posts. Funnies part to me was that I have this one aunt who has basically facebook stalked our relationship. Well, she posted and not 20 minutes later I get a text from my mom "did you or didn't you?" I let her sweat it out for a day before answering because I'm a good son but I commit to a joke.

high roller $75 for the pair (I think, blondie paid for them), plus about $25 for a couple cocktails.

Craftsteak $300 after tip.

Shit, I totally forgot to put that we went down to Fremont on Wednesday night for a bit. A friend of hers just moved there to become a cop with the LVPD so we met up for a bit. Hope he makes it, knowing someone on the force there could prove to be beneficial one of these days.

That's like 200 trips to chipotle. NOT WORTH IT BRO.

Speaking of, I'm getting some deliciousness for dinner. Out of food at home and didn't feel like going to the store. You know how a player do.

Work wasn't great today. Nothing in particular, just one of those days where the you can't forget the fact you have to do this for the next 40 years before you die on your fourth day of retirement.

Buddy of mine is in town for some interviews so we're going out for dinner. Haven't seen him since my birthday so it'll be nice to catch up. Hopefully he gets a job here. It'd be nice to have another friend around.

Nice brag post.

So I got good news and bad news. Good news is chipotle is doing a rewards program through the end of September. Bad news is I was registering my card so this meal would count and I told the lady what I wanted and looked down at my phone and missed her adding unwanted corn to my tacos. Disgusting. Ruined the meal, but in well on my way to a free trio of tacos.

this week, I am training the other organization's future head trader, a 21 year old kid who finishes college in 6 months. he is a more outgoing version of what I was at that age, which is to say that he is extremely unaware of his limitations and has zero humility. it doesn't make any difference for my task--I'm just doing this to humor the other firm--but I can already see how this will play out.

Not really, no. My job is to increase the odds of him working out. He can help them become independent of us on a better timeline, or he can cause a bunch of financial harm and get fired. Given that, on day one, he repeatedly talked over me during training... prospects are dim.

At one point, he not-so-subtly asked if we were trying to hire him, if this was all above board. I was dumbfounded. I just told him there's a non-compete in the agreement, and he nods knowingly, like this wasn't new info.
