If you are paying $20 for a haircut, I imagine people assume you did it yourself anyway.

and after 3 days, he is risen!

Pocket change cost me my first and only black girlfriend.   It was in the middle of a roaring poker boom and I was flush in ways most men don't even bother dreaming of. Money, it was like dirt to me

one of my friends literally just folds two pizza slices and eats them like a sandwich. it's really gross.

I am working with a dude to get preapproval. the tax deduction on the mortgage + obscene rents here just make me think I'm an idiot for considering $700+/mo for an apartment. especially since I can fade whatever liquidity bullshit that may happen to my house.

Looking at apartments myself I'm encountering the same thought. $750-800 is the lowest I've seen, too. Granted I demand I have a washer/dryer in my place. There's cheaper without it but I just hate community washrooms. If only I hadn't been so fiscally irresponsible these past few years, I could buy a house, too.

I won't consider moving jobs until I get to my goal weight anyways. I doubt my next job will have as relaxed of a dress code and I need new clothes. Already my biz caz wardrobe feels huge on me and it's only going to get worse. I don't want to have to buy a new warddrobe only to have to replace it in a few months.

Thanks. It'd be cooler if I still didn't have at least 45 more to lose but I'm super close to being able to go skydiving, so that's neat.

It does...which is the most important thing.

I have a friend that would get a combo pizza, slather mayo on a slice then top with another slice for a pizza sandwich.

In related news, he was 5'10" 325 at the time.

70ish.

Strat would tell you that my clothes reasoning doesn't hold up when you factor in the missed value of a payraise but I counter with VALUE THIS! :grabs crotch:

good for you. I'm guessing your next gig pays more because you lost the weight. what a dumb world we live in.

I'm preapproved for an obscene amount of money. good god this market is stupid.

i think its unquestionably true that skinny people are far more likely to succeed than fat people. at my work, none of the important people can even be considered chubby.

See Fraus post above.

I was sitting in a parking lot writing some notes today when I see this lady (mid 20's, a little chunky) come out of a grocery store pushing a cart with one had and clutching her (too short) dress in the front in an attempt to keep the wind from blowing it up. She kept one hand on the dress the whole time to her car, while loading groceries in the trunk and while taking the cart to the rack.

The whole time I'm watching I'm thinking why the hell does she not just wear a longer dress or a pant suit or something more practical. I can't imagine walking around all day worried about my clothes like they do.

Today was our last "moving" day. We opted to stay at my in-laws last night since we didn't have anything really set up here. When we got here this morning, I heard an odd sound from across the street. Realized as I got closer that it was coming from inside. After opening the door, it was a blaring/deafening high pitched alarm. There was seemingly no way to shut it off either. The previous owners hadn't hooked up the system, so they had no code to disarm it. Apparently they also opted to have the power turn off today (it was on my to-do list to switch it today)...which is probably what triggered it. We got the power turned back on, but that didn't stop it. Eventually after fiddling with the box for a while, it turned off. However, a couple hours later when the movers got here, it started going off again. Finally just opted to unscrew every wire in the box. Finally shut off and hasn't come back...and hopefully doesn't. It's basically like a smoke detector but even louder and like half a dozen of them all going off throughout the house.

They also turned off the water today. My wife has been trying to handle that for days but could never get through over the phone. She called today and the automated thing said she was 68th in line...which is insane. She opted to go to the office personally. They said it would probably be back on by 7pm. It is not. I went for a dip in the pool to cool off and clean off.

Anyway, got the pods unpacked today. Some dings and scratches here and there...but nothing major. Finished setting up the bed a bit ago. Whole cost of the move was probably in the $1.8k range...which doesn't seem too bad.

Our cable bill is going down a bit as well as our HOA fee, but mortgage is obviously jumping quite a bit, and I expect power and water to hike some more too. Maintenance, lawn care, and pool care also aren't going to be gobs of fun.
