The math tutoring center where I work keeps the temp at 75. I tend to get decently hot having to wear a knit shirt and khakis at that temp, so I usually turn it down. I usually go to 73, but the other day another instructor went down to 72 and the owner got upset when he saw it and said it shouldn't be set below 74.

Oh, also, the boss decided to put me in the center of a shouting match with a customer today.

Our thermostats are set at 75 but obviously it is not well DISTRIBUTED.

My boss talked me into putting some owner/employee balance data on a report I prepared last week and then he got called out on it being included in a meeting yesterday and then today he told me that it was bullshit and he would have me do it again and to not worry about it. Which makes me feel better because I was feeling pretty shitty about it for a few hours after the fact yesterday. I even wrote "i f'd up big" in my meeting notes.

Sounds like a strange company. Should have walked out when they insulted your report and slammed a door. Let them know right away you don't take kindly to sass.

Great job strat! I always knew you were at least mediocre. So what are you making now anyways? Jesus I hope it's less than me.

I think of Beans often, and no, he hasn't been around in awhile. Same with frau. Probably the same person, tbh.

I hope Strat makes less than you because I know how much he makes and it would mean that you are a making a lot more money than I last knew. I am once again the least paid here, although I don't think I actually left the bottom of the rankings once you count in bonuses (which I don't receive).

Essay, what kind of compliance requirements do you have re: outside accounts, trading individual stocks, etc.? PM if necessary, I am just trying to get a feel for what it's like at other firms. My firm is very conservative compliance-wise, and it's a miracle that I am allowed to trade like I do. It wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if I lost the ability to do this option selling nonsense at my next job, but I'm +21% YTD... it would really suck if it had to go away.

Our PMs are not allowed to option trade, so that would be out. All i can tell you about our compliance is that in my 3.5 years 4 PMs have left because the compliance drove them insane. They all say that our compliance is more burdensome than other banks and takes up more than half their time. whatever trading you did, were you to work here, is at the exact direction of our rules. i dont know exactly what all they have to do, but they all hate it.

I understand why the industry is like this, it's just frustrating to have the knowledge and not be able to apply it personally. I've heard Goldman employees can literally only buy mutual funds.
